Daily Fantasy Premier League 2015: Best EPL Lineup Picks Week 24

With the January transfer deadline now in the rearview mirror, the Premier League is gearing up for a Week 24 slate that features a couple of gripping derbies along with some lopsided matchups.

Here's a fresh look at the best lineup picks to make in the EPL for Week 24 courtesy of DraftKings, ahead of some FA Cup affairs on Tuesday and Wednesday.

F Loic Remy, Chelsea ($7,400)

The suspension of Chelsea striker Diego Costa that will keep him out of upcoming EPL fixtures with Aston Villa and Everton has opened up the door for oft-forgotten striker Loic Remy to make a splash with the Blues in a crucial stage of the season.

Remy did well to score his only decent chance in last week's draw to Manchester City, earning himself more supporters in the squad. Nemanja Matic predicted Remy to be key in these coming matches, per Sky Sports: "He gives us more confidence now for the next game. I'm very excited for the next game, how he's going to play. Now people will see he's a very good player and he's going to be very important for us."

What's more, football writer Jake Cohen noted Remy's incredible goals rate:

If Remy somehow is picked over to start by Didier Drogba, he should still have a chance to net one or two against a reeling Aston Villa unit that gave up five goals to Arsenal on Sunday.

F Dwight Gayle, Crystal Palace ($5,000)

Crystal Palace added Yaya Sanogo in the January transfer window, but it's Dwight Gayle whose lead he will want to follow with the 13th-placed squad.

The Eagles won four straight in all competitions before their 1-0 defeat to Everton last weekend, and Gayle scored three goals combined in the two EPL matches during that span. His impressive recent tear has led the Professional Footballers' Association to recognize him:

Gayle's recent numbers compare favorably to those of almost any forward. And when you take into account an immensely cheap $5,000 price tag—cheaper than a whopping 39 forwards to play in Week 24—his value jumps off the page.

M Steven Gerrard, Liverpool ($6,200)

Liverpool living legend Steven Gerrard got a much-needed rest in a Week 23 win over West Ham, and he should be locked and loaded for the Merseyside derby Saturday against Everton.

Gerrard had a tempered performance last time out in the EPL against Sunderland, but he absolutely tore up Leicester City with two goals and 27 fantasy points on New Year's Day.

Everton's defense has struggled just as much at home as on the road, with a 13th-place rating at Goodison Park, according to WhoScored.com. Liverpool maintain a massive edge in the midfield, and it's accentuated by the experience and quality of Gerrard.

D Glen Johnson, Liverpool ($4,400)

Not only should Liverpool control the match in the middle against Everton, but they should also prove to have their rival's number defensively and result in big games from the Reds' defenders.

Liverpool and Everton have played many high-scoring derbies before, but their early meeting in 2014-15 wasn't one. Liverpool was poised to win 1-0 before Phil Jagielka stunned the Reds with an improbable late equalizer.

Glen Johnson didn't make an appearance in that game, but he should be set to re-emerge into the starting lineup after coming on as a sub against Chelsea in the Capital One Cup and sitting against West Ham last weekend. The Reds defense is impressive on the road, with a sixth-place rating per WhoScored.com, and that will continue on Saturday.

GK Thibaut Courtois, Chelsea ($5,700)

There hasn't been a clean-sheet candidate entering an EPL weekend this season more capable of pulling off the feat than Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois in Week 24.

His Blues come off a draw against Manchester City to face perhaps the most struggling club in the EPL in Aston Villa.

WhoScored.com ranks Aston Villa's offense at home as 19th in the league. Courtois hasn't notched a clean sheet since December 26, but he will get back to it against a club that has scored just 11 times in 23 matches this season
