7 Colleges Best Represented at Army All-American, Under Armour All-America Game

Sanjay KirpalaniDec 31, 2014

A handful of colleges around the nation will have multiple committed prospects on display at this weekend’s Army All-American Game and the Under Armour All-America Game.

Three of the schools that will battle it out in the first College Football Playoff—Alabama, Florida State and Ohio State—will be heavily represented in both games.

However, a few other programs who hope to replicate the on-field success of those programs are nipping at their heels on the recruiting trail.

Which schools will have the most talent on hand in San Antonio and Orlando?

*All schools listed in alphabetical order.

Alabama

1 of 7

How loaded is Nick Saban’s latest class?

More than half of the Tide’s 22 commitments will be represented at the Under Armour All-America Game, as noted by Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports.

Another four players will compete in the U.S. Army All-American Game in San Antonio.

With 16 players overall who will be competing in these showcases, there will be plenty of Crimson flavor for fans watching this weekend’s games.

Clemson

2 of 7

With four pledges apiece in each game, Clemson will have a strong portion of its No. 6 class on display.

The Tigers will feature electric skill players in each game.

4-star running back Ray Ray McCloud III will play in the Under Armour game, while 5-star receiver Deon Cain will try to dominate in the U.S Army game.

The Tigers are a program building steady momentum as a potential contender to become a force in the ACC as well as nationally.

Florida State

3 of 7

Eleven of Florida State’s 20 pledges will be in action between the two games this weekend.

Seven future Noles will be in Orlando for the Under Armour game—with notables such as 5-star safety Derwin James and 5-star receiver George Campbell headlining the FSU contingent there.

5-star corner Tarvarus McFadden and 4-star running back Johnny Frasier are part of the four Seminole pledges who are at the U.S. Army game.

While the Noles will be busy trying to capture a second straight national title, the future of the program currently carrying the nation's longest winning streak will try to prove that the train will keep rolling in Tallahassee for years to come.

Georgia

4 of 7

Georgia is one of the schools that will have a heavy presence at the U.S. Army game.

The Bulldogs’ contingent in San Antonio is highlighted by 5-star defensive tackle Trent Thompson and 4-star receiver Van Jefferson.

While only three UGA pledges are at the Under Armour game, 5-star athlete Terry Godwin, 4-star defensive lineman Jonathan Ledbetter and 4-star safety Rashad Roundtree are among the top players at their respective positions.

Overall, nine prospects from the Bulldogs’ No. 3 class will be participating in this weekend’s festivities.

Notre Dame

5 of 7

Perhaps Notre Dame’s quarterback of the future, 4-star passer Brandon Wimbush, is one of three Irish players competing at the Under Armour game.

Brian Kelly also has five commitments competing at the U.S. Army game.

In total, eight of the 22 commitments in Notre Dame’s class will be representing the future of Irish football this weekend.

While the 2014 season was turbulent on the field for the Irish, Kelly has put together a solid class capable of helping his club compete for playoff berths in the future.

Ohio State

6 of 7

Urban Meyer has consistently been one of the nation’s best recruiters dating back to his tenure at Florida.

He has things rolling on the recruiting front in Columbus, as eight future Buckeyes will take the field in this weekend’s all-star action.

5-star linebacker Justin Hilliard and 4-star athlete Jerome Baker are two of the six Ohio State commits at the U.S. Army game, while 4-star defensive end Jashon Cornell and 4-star corner Eric Glover-Williams are in action at the Under Armour game.

With the flood of talent heading to Columbus, it’s clear that Meyer has the program setup to compete for national titles for the foreseeable future.

Tennessee

7 of 7

One of the biggest surprises of the 2015 cycle is the re-emergence of Tennessee as a power in recruiting.

Butch Jones and the Vols will have eight total prospects in this weekend’s games.

5-star defensive tackle Kahlil McKenzie is one of three future Vols in San Antonio, while 5-star receiver Preston Williams anchors a five-man group represented in Orlando.

After a solid season on the field, this crop of talent heading to Knoxville proves that the Vols are closer to becoming a power in the SEC East.
