Premier League leaders Chelsea cruised to a 2-0 win over West Ham United, dominating from start to finish on Boxing Day. John Terry opened the score after 31 minutes, and striker Diego Costa doubled the Blues advantage in the second half.

The Hammers played a more open game than last year's controversial 0-0 at Stamford Bridge but never truly threatened Chelsea, and as shared by the Premier League's official Twitter feed, Terry believes he and his teammates will be tough to beat on their current form:

Manchester City remain right on Chelsea's tail following their 3-1 win at West Bromwich Albion, and as shared by The Times' Rory Smith, the Citizens' win came in the harshest of conditions:

Fernando opened the score after just seven minutes and Yaya Toure doubled the visitors' lead from the spot, before David Silva made it 3-0 near the end of the first half.

West Brom didn't play bad at all but simply ran into a far superior City side, who were clinical in front of goal. Brown Ideye gave the fans something to cheer about late in the second half, but City's win was never in doubt.

Makeshift forward James Milner was a little excited, according to Smith:

Liverpool once again looked out of sorts against Burnley, relying heavily on the creativity of Raheem Sterling and giving away far too many chances to the newly promoted side.

The youngster came through in the for Brendan Rodgers, however, scoring the only goal in the Reds' 1-0 win early in the second half. According to Squawka, the England international is been heavily involved in the Reds' scoring this season:

Manchester United cruised to a 3-1 win over Newcastle United, with Wayne Rooney putting together arguably his best performance from the season while playing as an attacking midfielder.

The England international scored twice and added a beautiful assist for Robin van Persie, rightfully earning praise from manager Louis van Gaal, via The Guardian's Daniel Taylor:

Christian Eriksen once again had to play hero for Tottenham, scoring through free-kick to bag all three points against Leicester City. Spurs had taken an early lead before Leonardo Ulloa equalised, but the Denmark international provided another late winner to gift his team the win.

As shared by Squawka football, the midfielder's scoring output has exploded in 2014-15:

Southampton easily handled Crystal Palace to win 3-1, and Hull City beat Sunderland by the same score. Gylfi Sigurdsson gave Swansea City a 1-0 win over Aston Villa with a 13th-minute strike, and Everton suffered another embarrassing loss, this time at home against Stoke City.

Arsenal dominated Queens Park Rangers for the bulk of their evening match but had to cling on for dear life after Olivier Giroud was sent off for head-butting Nedum Onuhoa, emerging from a scrappy match with a 2-1 win.

The Gunners will gladly take the three points, but with Giroud suspended for the next three matches, Arsene Wenger's men will have to be at their best to survive the busy holiday period.
