Mirallas Withdrawn with Ankle Injury

Monday, Dec. 15

Everton's 3-1 win over Queens Park Rangers on Monday night ended on a sour note, as scorer and Belgium international Kevin Mirallas was carried off the pitch on a stretcher after suffering an apparent leg injury.

As shared by the club's official Twitter feed, Arouna Kone replaced the winger in injury time:

Mirallas went to the pitch after a harsh tackle from Jordon Mutch, and it quickly became clear the 27-year-old was in obvious pain. Via Sky Sports MNF, he was unable to leave the pitch on his own strength:

Het Laatste Nieuws' Kristof Terreur shared this image of the tackle, suggesting Mirallas' ankle could have been hurt:

Mirallas was spotted walking on the sidelines after the final whistle, a good sign after the initial shock of watching him depart on a stretcher.

The Belgian scored Everton's second goal with a deflected free-kick and was a constant nuisance for the QPR defence with his speed and technical ability. One of Everton's top attacking performers, fans will hope for a quick return.
