Angel Di Maria Admits He Misses Champions League, Reveals Language Struggle
Angel Di Maria has provided a much-needed boost to the Manchester United attack since his arrival from Real Madrid over the summer. The attacking midfielder admits the transition hasn't been an easy one, however, due to the language barrier and lack of Champions League football.
Di Maria is in good form with three goals and six assists in 11 Premier League appearances. Even so, Colin Harvey of the Daily Star passed along comments the Argentine international made in Sport magazine about missing the UCL action he became accustomed to with Real:
"Yes, I do miss Champions League football. We will have to do our best this season so that we qualify for next year's tournament. It won't be easy. But some weeks ago we were seventh or eighth in the table, and now we are fourth.

In order for United to reach the Champions League next term, Di Maria must shine.
He admits in the Sport interview that reaching top form has been tricky as he attempts to build chemistry with his teammates. It's a task made more difficult by the language divide, as noted by Ben Jefferson of the Daily Express:
"I must adapt to my team-mates, because there are still some moments in the game in which I feel I am not fully adapted yet.
The language barrier has also made it a bit harder, but I am trying to overcome that as soon as possible so I can communicate with everyone.
"
The midfielder deserves a lot of credit for making the most of a tough situation so far. Being unable to fully communicate with other members of the squad, especially during a match, makes the process of getting on the same page quite arduous.
Di Maria isn't letting it prevent him from making a major impact, though. What's more, it sounds like at least some progress is being made as the halfway point of the campaign nears.
That's a positive sign for United as they look to continue climbing the table.
If the club can qualify for the Champions League and Di Maria can fully complete the transition from Spanish football to English football, his outlook ahead of next season should be even brighter.
