Domestic football made a welcome return over the weekend, bringing with it no shortage of great goals.

Brendan Rodgers' job was put into jeopardy when Liverpool succumbed to a Crystal Palace golazo, Levante earned a win with a stunner that may prove critical at the end of the season and a fantastic strike helped shape the direction of the MLS play-offs.

10. Mile Jedinak (Crystal Palace) vs. Liverpool

Liverpool slumped to 14th place and their worst league start in 22 years with a 3-1 defeat at Crystal Palace on Sunday. 

Mile Jedinak put the final nail in the coffin int he 81st minute with a superbly taken free-kick

9. Gokhan Inler (Napoli) vs. Cagliari

Gokhan Inler blasted in a superb 30-yard drive to put Napoli 2-0 up over Cagliari on Sunday afternoon.

The Swiss midfielder's effort was soon cancelled out in a game that finished 3-3, but it was certainly one of the finest strikes in Italy this weekend. The golazo was arguably enhanced by a bizarre celebration

8. Roy Beerens (Hertha Berlin) vs. Cologne

Hertha Berlin pulled away from the Bundesliga relegation zone with a 2-1 win in Cologne on Saturday. 

The scoring was opened in impressive style by Roy Beerens, who picked up the ball near the halfway line. The Dutch winger played a one-two with teammate Valentin Stocker that saw him gain possession again in the penalty area, at which point he beat two defenders to slot home a low left-footed shot

7. Jake Livermore (Hull) vs. Tottenham

Tottenham's visit to Hull got off to a rocky start when Jake Livermore fired home from distance in the eighth minute with the first shot of the game. The former Lillywhite picked up a Federico Fazio headed clearance from around 30 yards and struck low past Hugo Lloris.  

6. Teal Bunbury (New England Revolution) vs. New York Red Bulls

New York Red Bulls hosted New England in the first leg of the MLS Eastern Conference Finals (the semi-finals of the MLS playoffs) on Sunday.

The Revs earned an impressive 2-1 away victory thanks in part to brilliantly named striker Teal Bunbury, who beat a defender to curl in a wonderful left-footed shot, opening the scoring in the 17th minute.   

5. Mario Gotze (Bayern Munich) vs. Hoffenheim

Bayern Munich went four points clear at the top of the Bundesliga with a 4-0 win over Hoffenheim on Saturday.

The scoring proceedings were kicked off in style by Mario Gotze, who became the first Bundesliga player to score seven goals in this campaign with his 23rd-minute effort. 

4. Jose Luis Morales (Levante) vs. Valencia

La Liga relegation candidates Levante earned a 2-1 win over Valencia on Sunday thanks to a spectacular winner from Jose Luis Morales.

After performing a few Ronaldo-style step-overs, the 27-year-old forward unleashed a lovely left-footed strike to earn a vital three points. 

3. Hulk (Zenit St Petersburg) vs. Kuban Krasnodar

Zenit St Petersburg moved eight points clear in the Russian Premier League with a 1-0 win over Kuban Krasnodar. 

The goal came in the 37th minute when Hulk had a free-kick blocked by the defensive wall. The Brazilian instinctively reacted by blasting a superb volley into the top left corner. 

2. Yann Kermorgant (Bournemouth) vs. Ipswich Town

Bournemouth took on fellow Championship high-flyers Ipswich at the Goldsands on Saturday, with honours ending even in a 2-2 draw.

The scoring was kicked off in spectacular fashion by Yann Kermorgant in the second minute, who struck home a brilliant bicycle kick moments after one of his teammates had hit the bar from distance.  

1. Luciano Slagveer (Heerenveen) vs. Ajax

Heerenveen gave Ajax a scare on Saturday when they took the lead in Amsterdam in the 18th minute through Luciano Slagveer. 

A clearance from a corner fell to the Dutch winger on the edge of the box, and he proceeded to drive an athletic scissor kick into the back of the net.

It was fortunate that Slagveer didn't take his shot a few seconds later, as a ballboy had accidentally thrown an extra ball onto the pitch as he took his shot. 

Ajax recovered from the golazo to win 4-1.
