Wednesday Recap

Bayern Munich strolled to their fourth win in Group E as they qualified as winners, beating Roma 2-0.
But it was a disastrous night for rivals Manchester City as the Premier League champions crashed at home, losing to CSKA Moscow 2-1, and had both Fernandinho and Yaya Toure red-carded.
The Daily Telegraph's Henry Winter gave his opinion and called the action as City conceded a poor goal:
The defeat leaves City bottom of the group and on the brink of yet another humiliating exit from Europe.
PSG and Barcelona put Group F to bed, both qualifying with ease, winning their games with Apoel Nicosia and Ajax 1-0 and 2-0, respectively.
Lionel Messi grabbed both goals for Barca and became the joint-highest scorer in Champions League history, equaling Spanish legend Raul's 71 strikes.
In Group G, Chelsea fully expected to beat Maribor to book their usual spot in the knockouts but stumbled to a 1-1 draw against the minnows.
Eden Hazard had a chance to win the game for Jose Mourinho but produced one of the worst spot-kicks of his career, making the shot an easy save for the goalkeeper.
And Sporting Lisbon kept their chances of qualifying alive with a superb win over second-placed Bundesliga outfit Schalke. The Portuguese team won the game in style, 4-2.
Athletic Bilbao's Champions League is over after their 2-0 loss at home to Porto ended their dreams. Porto qualify from Group H as a result, with Shakhtar Donetsk sitting in second after their 5-0 destruction of BATE Borisov.
Tuesday Recap

The Champions League saw a gluttony of goals in the opening Matchday 4 contests, with four or more goals being scored in four of the eight matches.
Atletico Madrid kept their hopes alive of a second Champions League final in a row after defeating Sweden's Malmo 2-0, allowing them to be three points clear of Olympiakos and Juventus in Group A.
And the Italian side scored a tough victory in Greece as the Old Lady reigned supreme, winning the tie 3-2.
Real Madrid became the first team from La Liga to book their place into the next phase after beating an understrength Liverpool side in the Spanish capital.
A Karim Benzema goal was enough to see Los Blancos take the points against the depleted Anfield side, winning 1-0.

Madrid can now not be caught in Group B, with Liverpool on the brink of elimination after Basel beat Ludogorets 4-0 in Switzerland.
Bayer Leverkusen inched closer to progression in Russia, beating a strong Zenit St. Petersburg side 2-1 to lead Group C.
But both Monaco and Benfica, along with Zenit, can still catch the German side. Benfica edged out the French club 1-0 at home to blow Group C wide open.
Dortmund's 4-1 against Galatasaray was enough to see them through, with Jurgen Klopp's men dominating Group D. Main challengers Arsenal slipped to a shocking 3-3 draw with Anderlecht after leading the match 3-0.
This leaves the Belgians five points behind the Gunners, with Arsene Wenger's team able to clinch progression on Matchday 5.
The cream is once again rising to the top in the Champions League, with Real Madrid and Barcelona leading the way. The English clubs are struggling, though, and we could see a scenario where only one Premier League team makes it to the knockouts.
The rest of the competition now promises to be a shootout between Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to see who will be the competition's greatest-ever goalscorer.
