Jeremy Guthrie Apologizes to Orioles Fans on Twitter for T-Shirt
Following the Kansas City Royals' 2-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles in Game 3 of the American League Championship Series on Tuesday, Royals pitcher Jeremy Guthrie caught heat for wearing a T-shirt that read "These O's ain't Royal"—a play on the lyrics of Chris Brown's "Loyal."

Today, Guthrie, who pitched for the Orioles from 2007 to 2011, is apologizing on Twitter to anyone who might have been offended by the shirt:
Craig Calcaterra of Hardball Talk weighed in on Guthrie's apology:
According to Eduardo A. Encina of The Baltimore Sun, Guthrie wrote another tweet that has since been deleted stating that he has nothing but respect for the city of Baltimore and Orioles players:
"My positive feelings for the Charm City, O’s organization, my former teammates and O’s fans is well documented," Guthrie wrote. "Nothing I wore [tonight] changes that."
The Royals are one game away from their first World Series in 29 years. They certainly deserve to celebrate their recent run, and it's apparent they are feeling a great deal of confidence right now after being a doormat for the last three decades.
The Orioles haven't been able to figure out Kansas City's bullpen thus far and need a dramatic turnaround starting Wednesday to get back in the series. With Guthrie's apology to and acknowledgment of his former team after catching some heat for his shirt, the focus should now return exclusively to the field.
