CJ Spiller, Fred Jackson's Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 6

Donald WoodOct 12, 2014

The Buffalo Bills had one of the most dynamic running back duos with C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson last season, but the team struggled finding any rhythm against the New England Patriots in Week 6.

Jackson has been the team’s No. 1 back all season and he continued being the top option in the rushing attack on Sunday. While the workload was split between Jackson (10 carries), Spiller (six) and Anthony Dixon (seven), it was the veteran who was given the majority of the goal-line carries.

Even with the Buffalo offensive unit struggling overall, Jackson is still worthy of a start as an RB2 or flex play each week. On the other hand, owners with Spiller on their roster have grown frustrated and must make a tough decision.

It’s time to sit Spiller until he proves he’s worthy of a start. Spiller only run the ball six times for 19 yards and was only targeted once in the passing game. For a fantasy player who was drafted in the early rounds, Spiller has been an absolute bust.

As bad as Spiller has been, he has the raw talent to be a difference maker. If you can make a trade for an affordable price, buying low on Spiller may be a risk that returns a big reward later in the season.
