NFL Schedule Week 5: TV Coverage Map, Start Times and Live Stream Info

Kenny DeJohnOct 5, 2014

The Green Bay Packers steamrolled the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday Night Football, putting 42 points on the board against a Vikings offense that only mustered 10 with Christian Ponder running the show.

It wasn't a great start to Week 5, as the game was a blowout before the end of the first half. This week in football does have some intriguing matchups, though, so don't get discouraged by the lack of competitiveness to kick off the action.

Week 5 is a key week in the NFL, as it serves an indicator as to which teams are for real and which teams are riding lucky streaks to start the year. Are the 3-1 Houston Texans for real? Are the 2-2 New England Patriots on the way down?

Game of the Week: Arizona Cardinals at Denver Broncos

The Arizona Cardinals are one of two remaining unbeaten teams (Cincinnati Bengals). The Denver Broncos, 2-1, are looking to come strong out of the bye week and avenge their 26-20 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 3.

The Cardinals are a quiet 3-0. Drew Stanton has led each of the past two victories, as Carson Palmer has been suffering from an axillary nerve contusion. With no clear timetable to return, Palmer and the Cardinals have to trust that Stanton can continue to get the job done.

Stanton has weapons in the passing game. Larry Fitzgerald and Michael Floyd are big-time targets, making it difficult for opposing secondaries to play sound coverage. Both command double-teams from time to time, meaning one is almost always open.

In the running game, Andre Ellington has been just so-so. That will lead to a big passing performance from Stanton, and the Broncos know it. Arizona and head coach Bruce Arians are always looking to air it out over the top of defenses, and Broncos defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio is planning for it, via ESPN's Jeff Legwold:

"[Other] teams look for it; not everybody is as aggressive actually throwing them, just getting the ball down the field, giving their receivers a chance. … Certainly something we’re aware of."

The Broncos defense might get a boost on Sunday, however, as linebacker Danny Trevathan could be back for the contest, tweets Fox31 Denver's Raul Martinez:

This has all the makings of a shootout. The Broncos are primed to go off at any point, especially with weapons like Montee Ball, Emmanuel Sanders, Julius Thomas, Demaryius Thomas and Wes Welker at Peyton Manning's disposal.

That said, the physicality of the Cardinals will pose a threat to the fluidity of Denver's offensive attack. Bleacher Report's Nick Kostos is taking the Cardinals:

Without a fluid offense, the Broncos will struggle to put up points and kill the Cardinals' momentum. This game is hands down the best one on the schedule in Week 5.
