Manchester City took an early 2-0 lead thanks to Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko, but two massive errors from youngster Eliaquim Mangala gave life back to Hull City.
The centre-back first scored an own goal and followed that up by bringing down Abel Hernandez inside the box, gifting the hosts a penalty. The Sun Football was anything but impressed with the Frenchman's performance:
Manager Manuel Pellegrini stated he will continue to thrust the 23-year-old, however, via OptimaLive's Kelechi Nkoro:
"Pellegrini on Mangala: "He was very unlucky with the own goal and after that he arrived late for penalty but we continue to trust him".

Dzeko turned the situation around with a second goal midway through the second half, and Frank Lampard scored his fourth in as many matches to secure the win.
The win brought an end to City's three-match winless streak and will help the defending champions keep pace with Chelsea.
The Blues had little difficulty disposing of Aston Villa, with goals from Gary Cahill, Diego Costa and Willian. Chelsea are still undefeated and have only dropped two points in six matches, as Jose Mourinho's squad are the early favourites for the title.
As shared by the Premier League's official Twitter feed, John Terry voiced the sense of optimism coming from Stamford Bridge these days:
Steven Gerrard appeared to have won it for Liverpool when he scored a beautiful free-kick in their fixture against neighbours Everton, but Phil Jagielka scored an absolute screamer in stoppage time to ensure the spoils would be shared.
Even former England striker Michael Owen couldn't hide his admiration:
The Reds are now winless in three matches and sitting well below all their main rivals for the European tickets, as Brendan Rodgers will have to right the ship in a hurry.
Rooney gave Manchester United the lead after just five minutes, but his ill-advised challenge on Stewart Downing made for an exciting finish in their match against West Ham. The Red Devils held on to win 2-1, however, the other goals coming from Robin van Persie and Diafra Sakho.
The win sees United open a gap over rivals Liverpool and Everton although Rooney's potential suspension could have a significant impact in the coming weeks.
Arsenal and Tottenham shared the spoils in the north London derby, Nacer Chadli's opener cancelled out by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Neither team is particularly helped by this result, and the Gunners now chase league leaders Chelsea by six points.
