Week 3 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Final Review of Most Difficult Fantasy Matchups
Even though only two weeks have been played, plenty of fantasy football matchups have already been decided by making a correct or incorrect lineup decision. It's amazing how often those fringe choices are the difference in the end.
The good news is that with each passing week, more information becomes available to make those calls, both in terms of a player's usage and production as well as how the opposing defense has performed against the run or the pass.
Still, inevitably there are still come tricky decisions that need to be made ahead of Week 3. So let's examine a group of players probably being debated by fantasy owners and decide whether they belong in the lineup or on the bench.

Colts Release Kenny Moore

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Start 'Em
| QB | Russell Wilson | SEA |
| RB | Lamar Miller | MIA |
| WR | Marques Colston | NO |
| TE | Zach Ertz | PHI |
| D/ST | Texans | HOU |
| K | Cody Parkey | PHI |
Russell Wilson doesn't receive much fantasy hype on a team with Marshawn Lynch and an elite defense. He was the eighth-ranked quarterback last year, though, and he finds himself in the same spot early this season. Another big game is on the table against a Denver Broncos pass defense that's struggled.
Lamar Miller should be in line for more touches both on the ground and as part of the passing game while Knowshon Moreno is out. Add in a Kansas City Chiefs defense that currently ranks 23rd in yards allowed, and Miller could very well put up No. 1 RB numbers.
It's not time to panic about Marques Colston. Even though he didn't record a catch last week, he had five grabs for 110 yards in the opener. The New Orleans Saints offense simply likes to spread the ball around, and he came up on the short end last week.
He should rebound in Week 3 and start a new streak after his previous one was broken, as noted by Kristian Garic of WWL 870:
Ertz is averaging more than 23 yards per catch through two weeks. His ability to stretch the field along with being a big red-zone target is pushing him toward must-start status. The Washington Redskins don't represent a terrific matchup, but the weakness of the position means he should be in fantasy lineups.
The Houston Texans defense ranks second through two weeks and now gets to face a New York Giants group that's already turned the ball over five times. Eli Manning has tossed four interceptions, making a pick-six a distinct possibility.
Cody Parkey isn't a well-known name as a rookie out of Auburn. His numbers suggest he's worth starting, though. He's been handed six field-goal attempts, connected on five of them and has reached double-digits in both games. The streak should continue against Washington.
Sit 'Em
| QB | Tony Romo | DAL |
| RB | Khiry Robinson | NO |
| WR | Wes Welker | DEN |
| TE | Delanie Walker | TEN |
| D/ST | Bills | BUF |
| K | Phil Dawson | SF |
The Dallas Cowboys have utilized a more balanced approach offensively, and it's caused Tony Romo's fantasy value to fall. He's tallied just 20 points in two weeks and has to face a St. Louis Rams group that ranks fifth against the pass. He belongs on the bench for the time being.
Khiry Robinson has been a hot commodity this week following an injury to Mark Ingram. While he's worth a roster spot, the Saints backfield is still crowded. Fantasy owners are best off waiting a week to see how he's utilized before relying on him.
Peyton Manning will be happy to get Wes Welker back in the lineup this week. The Broncos weren't nearly as efficient without him when they needed those four or five tough yards. Facing the Seattle Seahawks means he should stay on fantasy benches for one more week, though.
Jeff Legwold of ESPN passed along comments from the receiver, who will clearly have to transition back into football mode, as well.
"Working out, doing honey-do chores, not very well, [but] just working out and staying [in Denver],'' Welker said. "It seemed like every other day, I was kind of going back and forth about whether I was coming back or not.''
Though Delanie Walker has lived up to the sleeper hype so far, the Cincinnati Bengals' linebacker group represents a tough challenge. It's probably best to expect a down game from the Tennessee Titans tight end and look elsewhere.
Special teams helped the Buffalo Bills to 21 points for their D/ST last week. They had a more mundane five-point output in Week 1 against the Chicago Bears. The latter is a better projection for a clash with the San Diego Chargers, meaning there are better options available.
Phil Dawson has only racked up 11 points so far. Scoring chances will likely be hard to come by once again on the road against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. A rebound is coming eventually, just not this week for the veteran kicker.
