If there are shocks in store, one is likely to come in Getafe. Valencia are an exciting young team this season, one built around brilliant forward Paco Alcacer and playing dynamic football.
However, Getafe have a knack for frustrating Spain's top teams, particularly at home. If they can keep Valencia playmaker Andre Gomes quiet, Getafe can repeat the trick once again.
The on-loan Benfica ace has been a revelation so far for Valencia. Cutting off his supply to Alcacer is the key to Getafe snatching a point.
Elsewhere, expect Sevilla to lean on workhorse striker Carlos Bacca to dig out a win in Cordoba. The hard-running and skilled Colombian will play a part in both of his team's goals.
Key Players
James Rodriguez and Toni Kroos, Real Madrid
Two of Real's expensive summer imports will be vital in Coruna. In particular, the pressure has been on James Rodriguez.
The Colombian, who shone at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, has been tasked with replacing mercurial schemer Angel Di Maria. The Argentine was a key member of the team that won last season's UEFA Champions League.
Speaking of that tournament, Rodriguez thrived in Madrid's first game of this year's edition. He was one of the scorers in Los Merengues' emphatic 5-1 win over FC Basel:
Afterwards, Rodriguez described how his form is improving and also endorsed his partnership with talisman forward Cristiano Ronaldo, per RealMadrid.com reporter Barbara Jimenez:
"I had a good game. Everything came off for us and as a team we did everything well. We hope to continue playing like this and keep scoring goals. This match will give us confidence for what's ahead.
I also had a good game against Atlético but I think I was better today. I think Cristiano Ronaldo and I have always had a good relationship, we always talk to one and other and he's a great person. As for the group, we are mentally strong.
"
Rodriguez has a key role to play in supplying Ronaldo this season. His pace and guile will be crucial in creating space to fire passes between the lines for Ronaldo to attack.
While Rodriguez is still finding his way, at least Los Blancos manager Carlo Ancelotti can rely on Toni Kroos. The diminutive pass-master has been a model of efficiency as the natural hub of possession in Ancelotti's team.
Squawka Football detailed Kroos' unerring accuracy and distribution against Basel:
If Kroos controls the ball that way in Coruna, Madrid will leave as comfortable winners.
Ivan Rakitic, FC Barcelona
Kroos won't be the only possession hog in the spotlight this week. Barcelona will need impressive new man Ivan Rakitic to dominate proceedings in Levante.
The unheralded hosts are certain to try and slow the game and stifle Barca's forward movement. Breaking down that sort of defensive rigidity requires patience and assurance in possession.
Fortunately, Rakitic has both in abundance. The 26-year-old former Sevilla star can play deep or advanced in midfield and has a tremendous range of passing.
Rakitic's ability to launch long passes over the top, as well as thread them through the lines, will eventually catch out a stubborn Levante defence. Once a Rakitic-inspired Barca get their first, manager Luis Enrique's team will soon add to its tally.
Enrique's early table-toppers will continue to set the pace in La Liga at the end of Week 4. But there will be ominous signs of life from Ancelotti's star-studded Real squad.
