James Harden Scores 27 Points Despite Making Only 2 Shots from the Field

The Houston Rockets' James Harden did something against the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday night that had never been done in NBA history. He scored 27 points despite making only two field goals.

Harden made only two of his nine shots from the field, but he made 22 of his 25 free-throw attempts. He added six rebounds and five assists.

Nobody else had ever done what Harden accomplished, via Basketball-Reference.com. The Phoenix Suns' Charles Barkley nearly did when he scored 26 points on two made field goals and 22 free throws against the Washington Bullets back in December of 1995.

Houston came away with a 100-92 victory over Memphis.
