Fantasy Premier League 2013 Week 14: Signings That Will Change Your Season
If you’re having struggles in your fantasy Premier League this season, then it is by no means too late to make up some ground.
Don't fret, it happens to us all, and with a convoluted Christmas period to come, point scoring opportunities will be plentiful.
So with that in mind, let's have a look at some players who, like your team, are going to come in good over the festive period and improve your fantasy football fortunes.

Bryan Oviedo—£4.3m
With Leighton Baines out for at least a month, Costa Rican international Oviedo looks the most likely deputy for the England man. And if his start of the season is anything to go by, then he will be a more than capable replacement.
Against Stoke City he was outstanding, linking up with Steven Pienaar to great effect a la the absent England left-back. He also helped himself to one goal, a 25 yard thunderbolt, and one assist, as his cross put one on a plate for Romelu Lukaku,
There is little known about Oviedo and as a result, he could be a real bargain buy for your fantasy team. He looks set to start for at least the next month and if Baines is to move on to Manchester United as many believe he will, Oviedo could be in the side for quite a while yet.
Anyway, if he keeps performing like this, Baines might not get back in the team!
Jon Flanagan—£4.5m
Another young defender profiting from injuries at Merseyside. Flanagan was thrown in at the deep-end in an unfamiliar position against Everton, but he was so impressive in the red-hot Merseyside derby atmosphere.
And Flanagan could feature quite a lot over the coming months. Jose Enrique is out long-term and Brendan Rodgers doesn’t seem to have much faith in Valencia loan signing Aly Cissokho. As a result, the young scouser is Liverpool’s best option to accompany Glen Johnson in the full-back berths.
He’s another player who’ll feature a lot over the Christmas period and one that you could pick up for buttons. Liverpool’s superb early season form will see them keep plenty of clean sheets in the coming weeks—especially with home games against Norwich City and West Ham United on the horizon—and Flanagan’s inclusion will allow you to free up funds to better other areas of your team.
Yoan Gouffran—£6.3m
With Loic Remy grabbing all the headlines for a rejuvenated Newcastle United team, the contribution of another French forward has gone a little unnoticed.
Former Bordeaux man Gouffran has been superb in recent weeks and he’s bagged four goals in nine appearances for the Toon this season. He’s on a brilliant run at the moment having scored three in his last three games at St James’ Park.

Newcastle are a team on the up and with a front three of Shola Ameobi, Remy and Gouffran, Alan Pardew’s side have plenty of firepower to cause most sides problems. Gouffran in particular is a shrewd operator, an intelligent all-round player and a superb finisher. He’ll be on the scoresheet again a couple of times over the congested Christmas period.
