Big Winner: Arsenal
The Gunners guaranteed they will at least enter next weekend as the Premier League leaders (remember, there is a full slate of games on Wednesday this week) with a stylish 3-0 win over Cardiff City.
Aaron Ramsey led the way with a brace while Mesut Ozil pitched in with two assists. While Cardiff City had their opportunities, Arsenal bossed the midfield and generally looked like the more threatening team.
But for all of the creativity they boast, the Gunners are atop the table because of the steady play of keeper Wojciech Szczesny and the defense. They've allowed just 10 goals on the season, and the sturdy back four are a huge reason why this Arsenal team is for real.
Big Winner: Everton
This Everton team is not to be taken lightly, especially after wiping the floor with Stoke City, winning 4-0 behind goals from Gerard Deulofeu, Seamus Coleman, Bryan Oviedo and Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku has been in inspired form since being loaned to Everton and is truly one of the brightest up-and-coming stars in the Premier League. It was nice to see another loanee, Deulofeu, get on the scoresheet after a very bright start to Saturday's match.
If you think any of the contenders want anything to do with this Toffees side, think again.
Big Winner: Newcastle
Another team the contenders will continue to eye warily is Newcastle, which earned its seventh win this season a year removed from winning just 11 matches in all.
The Magpies are red-hot, having won four straight including victories over Chelsea and Spurs. Yoan Gouffran and Moussa Sissoko were the heroes against West Brom, providing the goals in a 2-1 win.
That provided a respite for Loic Remy, who has been on fire but couldn't find the scoresheet on Saturday. If Newcastle continue to play as they have early in the season, the battle for the top four spots will be a whole lot more interesting.
Big Loser: Fulham
Not only did Fulham lose, they gave up three goals to West Ham, a team that had all of nine tallies coming into the weekend. Fulham are tied with Sunderland at 24 goals allowed on the season, tied for worst in the Premier League.
It's hard to imagine Fulham staying up this season, especially if they repeat their performance from Sunday again.
Big Loser: Crystal Palace
Losing isn't really that big of a deal for Crystal Palace, something they've done plenty of this season and will likely continue to do. But they team now finds itself alone in last place on the table after Sunderland managed to earn a draw versus Aston Villa on Saturday.
It appears Palace will be one-and-done in the Premier League this year.
