"The victim is a 46-year-old Ajax supporter. The man is married and father of a son. He is a football fan, a real Ajax supporter who watches every game and occasionally goes to the stadium.
He was seriously injured Tuesday night and taken to the hospital in critical condition. His condition was on Thursday morning still critical. Finally, the family said that he had a quiet night but has serious head injuries and remains in intensive care.

As reported by BBC News, the male supporter is said to have plunged around 16 feet after Danny Hoesen sent the Amsterdam Arena crowd wild with the team's second goal just before halftime:
"He suffered serious head injuries and was taken to hospital, but his current condition is unclear. Images taken by people in the arena appeared to show the man lying on the track around the pitch.
"
Two ambulances are said to have collided with each other before taking the man straight to hospital.
The incident threatens to provide a desperately sad end to a memorable night for Frank de Boer's team, who kept their qualification hopes on track with a spirited performance against Gerardo Martino's experimental side.
Despite having Joel Veltman sent off three minutes after the break, Ajax's starting lineup of youngsters showed immense determination and stunning work ethic to battle against La Blaugrana's endless attacking play.
While Thulani Serero's opening goal gave the team hope of victory inside the first 20 minutes, it was Hoesen's strike in the 41st minute that provided De Boer's men with something to defend when Veltman was shown his marching orders after fouling Neymar in the area.
Xavi converted the penalty, but the La Liga side didn't have enough firepower to nick a draw, highlighting the absence of Lionel Messi with their defeat.
Thoughts now turn to the unnamed fan who suffered the terrible accident as scenes of rapturous joy filled the Amsterdam Arena. Goal.com confirms he was sat in Row 1 of Block 126, which means the incident took place in the south side of the stadium.
