Luis Suarez - Nine Goals
Despite having only featured in seven games this season, the Uruguayan sits top of the goalscoring charts.
Suarez travelled back from Uruguay on Thursday so he could play in this fixture, and as per usual, he was a potent threat throughout. His ability to wriggle out of tight spaces and relentlessly go at the opposition was on show once again, as he gave the Everton back line some very scary moments.
He capped off a fine performance with a wonderful free-kick midway through the first half. Questions could be asked regarding the Everton wall and the efforts of Toffees goalkeeper Tim Howard, but such is the quality of Suarez, he noted the gap and exploited it.
Daniel Sturridge - Nine Goals
The England man came off the bench to snatch a late equaliser for his team in a pulsating derby game.
After playing 90 minutes for England in midweek, Brendan Rodgers saw fit to rest his striker. But when Liverpool needed him, Sturridge stepped up and netted what could be a crucial goal.
He got on the end of a superb Steven Gerrard cross and guided the ball home with a tidy glancing header.
Loic Remy - Eight Goals
Newcastle secured their third win on the bounce with a 2-1 victory over Norwich City. Their excellent recent form is due in no small part to the form of the French forward Remy.
He scored the opening goal to set the tempo against a struggling Canaries outfit. And it was a true poachers effort, nodding home at the back post when the Norwich defence had switched off.
Despite some inconsistencies, Newcastle are starting to pick up some positive form and are certainly looking up the table rather than over their shoulder at the moment. If Remy can maintain his goalscoring exploits then Newcastle could be surprise contenders for a European berth.
Romelu Lukaku - Seven Goals
It looked as though Lukaku had won the Merseyside derby for Everton. The Belgian powerhouse got the Toffees on level terms midway through the first half before heading home in the 83rd minute to put his team 3-2 in front.

Sturridge snatched a draw for the visitors, but Lukaku earned the man of the match award for his all action display. He caused Liverpool no end of problems and could have helped himself to another couple of goals if it wasn’t for the heroics of his compatriot Simon Mignolet.
Everton finally look to have a top striker at their disposal and with Lukaku in this kind of form, they could mount a serious charge towards those top-four spots.
