The battle atop the Serie A table is already starting to heat up. Roma lead the way heading into Matchday 13, but Juventus and Napoli are both within four points of the top spot, which sets up an intriguing three-club race that could last until the latter stages of the campaign.
Inter Milan and Fiorentina are also in the mix and have the potential to make things even more interesting if either of them can find top form. On the other hand, AC Milan are going to need quite a run to recover from a slow start to the season.
Without further ado, let's check out the current league table, which will be updated as the matches go final for Matchday 13. By the time Roma play on Monday, they will know what they need to do in order to maintain the top spot for another week.

The Verona derby remained scoreless until second-half stoppage time when Dejan Lazarevic struck for Chievo Verona to give the visitors a much-needed win in the rivalry clash. It was one step toward getting out of the relegation zone for Chievo and a missed opportunity for the Gialloblu.
Later on Saturday, AC Milan attempted to begin making progress back toward the European spots against Genoa. The Rossoneri failed to channel their Champions League form, settling for a 1-1 draw.
Napoli took the pitch on Saturday to face off with Parma in a vital match. But Partenopei struck out on points as they fell 1-0.
Sunday's action was highlighted by Juventus and Fiorentina. Both title hopefuls faced road challenges against clubs lower in the table. Juve were able to come away with a 2-0 victory over Livorno thanks to second-half goals from Fernando Llorente and Carlos Tevez.
Fiorentina had a much more difficult time against an Udinese side that's been far more competitive at home so far this season. The Bianconeri were game and came away with an impressive 1-0 win.
In other Sunday fixtures for Matchday 13, Sampdoria played Lazio to a 1-1 draw, Sassuolo topped Atalanta 2-0, and Torin thrashed Catania 4-1 on the strength of two goals from Omar El Kaddouri.
Inter Milan then could only manage a disappointing 1-1 draw against Bologna to end play on Sunday.
Finally, Matchday 13 concluded with Roma being held to a scoreless draw against Cagliari on Monday. This kept Juventus on top of the table heading into the next week of play.
Even though there's a lot of football left to play in the campaign, there's already a growing feeling that every point is going to matter. Every point dropped by the top clubs is one they must make up later on.
