Sweden vs. Portugal
Portugal take a 1-0 lead to Stockholm thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo's late winner against Sweden in Friday's first leg, but there's still a chance that the Real Madrid star won't feature in next year's tournament.
Leading up to this fixture, the talk of the town has been whether it will be Ronaldo or Zlatan Ibrahimovic who misses out on a Rio reservation; one of the world's leading figures set to miss out.
Precariously poised Portugal will need to be on their guard against a Swedish side who have lost just one of their last six games in home territory, a 5-3 defeat at the hands of Germany last month.
France vs. Ukraine
According to Infostrada Sports, no team has ever progressed in a World Cup UEFA playoff after going down by a margin of two goals or more in the first leg, giving France some bad omens as they head back to Paris.
Didier Deschamps' side run the extreme risk of making a shock exit from the competition after losing 2-0 in Kiev last Friday and struggling to threaten the opposition goal.
History may be against Les Bleus, but this week's encounter at the Stade de France could still go either way in what promises to be a thriller.
Romania vs. Greece
Greece have got one foot in the door of another major international tournament thanks to their 3-1 win in Piraeus last Friday.
As long as Konstantinos Mitroglou can remain on form, Fernando Santos' side look like they've got a chance of registering some attacking threat, but it will be all about their defence in Bucharest this week.
Croatia vs. Iceland
Iceland are the underdog story everyone's keen to get behind; they managed to maintain their hopes of becoming the smallest nation ever to qualify for a World Cup finals by drawing 0-0 in Reykjavik last week.
Lars Lagerback's side still face an uphill struggle despite Croatia's drop-off in form over the course of 2013, however, and need to grab the goal(s) necessary to ensure they complete their Rio journey.
It'll be easier said than done, though, as the Croats showed a daunting ability to be calm and comfortable in the second period of the first leg, something Iceland need to make sure isn't the case in Zagreb this Tuesday.
