EPL Week 11 Results: Biggest Takeaways from Saturday's Action
Week 11 Premier League action is nearly complete, and Saturday's action gave us plenty to digest.
Some of the EPL's top teams flexed their muscles this week, while a few others were unable to pull out the victories that they were expected to pick up. Failing to pick up victories in these matches could certainly come back to haunt a select few teams later on in the season.
Some of the season's top matches will take place in Week 12, but that's not to say the results from this week weren't exciting. Here's what to take away from this week in preparation for Week 12.

Liverpool Is a Force to Be Reckoned With
Liverpool handled Fulham with ease on Saturday, picking up a 4-0 victory and pulling within two points of Arsenal. Arsenal will play on Sunday, so that is obviously subject to change.
The No. 2 team on the EPL table, Liverpool proved that they deserve to contend for the top spot in the league. Their four-goal performance was both dominant and impressive, and Luis Suarez netted two goals to give his team the advantage.
Fulham is a squad in a state of flux, but that shouldn't take anything away from Liverpool's impressive showing. They beat the teams that they need to in order to pick up points, and that's what separates top teams from bottom-feeders.
Liverpool dominated throughout, taking 32 shots on goal and possessing the ball 68 percent of the time. Fulham couldn't get anything going even if they wanted to because of how effective Liverpool's defense was in limiting the attack.
After regaining the No. 2 spot on the table, Liverpool could dominate their schedule from here on out.
Southampton Is a Top Squad
Southampton is now No. 3 on the EPL table after defeating Hull City 4-1 on Saturday. With Chelsea picking up no points this week in a 2-2 draw against West Brom, that leaves Southampton in sole possession of No. 3.
They were on the attack early and often against Hull City, giving the opposition no chance to spoil their day. Morgan Schneiderlin scored a goal within 16 minutes of play, and Rickie Lambert added a goal just a bit later.
By the end of the match, Lallana and Steven Davis had added goals of their own.
Southampton's ability to get contributions from everyone in the lineup and pick up points against lesser teams is what makes them such a dangerous team in the Premier League. They play hard and fast, regardless of the opponent.
They haven't been handed a loss since Aug. 31 against Norwich City, making them one of the hottest—and most dangerous—teams in the sport.
Everton Needs to Pick Up Points
Crystal Palace was able to pick up their first point in eight league games against Everton on Saturday, and that won't bode well for the No. 5 team in the league. With hot teams like Liverpool and Southampton ahead of them, Everton needs to start picking up points against lesser opponents.
This match appeared to be a "gimme" for Everton, as Crystal Palace ranks 20th in the league. All Everton needed to do was continue to play a balanced game to put them down and pick up a point in the standings. Instead, they played down to their competition and failed to keep up with the aforementioned top teams.
They came close to scoring, as Phil Jagielka's header hit the crossbar and bounced away from the net. Close isn't good enough to win, obviously, so Everton will head into Week 12 against Liverpool in a tough spot.
A loss to Liverpool would put Everton down in the standings even further, and that's not a position the team wants to be in. Defeating Liverpool would see them jump in the standings, but beating them definitely won't be an easy task.
In short, Everton needs to start picking up points against teams that they should pummel. They didn't do that this week.
