Fantasy Premier League 2013 Week 11: Defenders, Midfielders and Strikers to Sign
Sergio Aguero topped the official Premier League Fantasy table last weekend with 18 points, but who will challenge the Argentine forward in Gameweek 11?
With plenty of points up for grabs, we’ve broken down the three most likely defenders, midfielders and strikers to bag your side some points.
Each player’s form and the quality of the opposition were taken into account in deciding this week’s players to watch. Here are some of those you should have in your starting XI.

Defenders
| Player | Opponent | Total Points | Wk 11 Prediction |
| Asmir Begovic | Swansea | 48 | 6 |
| Dejan Lovren | Southampton | 59 | 6 |
| Leighton Baines | Crystal Palace | 56 | 12 |
Begovic: He scores when he wants, he scores when he wants, Asmir Begovic, he scores when he wants.
But in all seriousness, how the Stoke goalkeeper only bagged nine points after his goalscoring exploits last weekend we will never know.
Now, while we don’t expect him to find the net against Swansea, a clean sheet is a possibility. Begovic has a stern back four in front of him and the Swans have failed to score in three of their last four Premier League outings.
Swansea may also be without the services of Michu, who missed out on the Europa League midweek with injury.
Lovren: The Croat has played an integral part in Southampton’s fantastic start to the season. The Saints sit sixth, having conceded just four goals in 10 games.
This weekend’s opponents Hull have found the net just eight times in the league—three of them came in the one game against Newcastle—and they will struggle to break down the Southampton rearguard.
Expect Lovren to pick up clean-sheet points once more.
Baines: Baines is due a goal and it may well arrive this weekend against Palace. The Eagles have scored just six goals this campaign so the left-back should have the freedom to get forward to collect some points.
Baines' haul of 56 so far makes him the third best defender in fantasy football.
Midfielders
| Player | Opponent | Total Points | Wk 11 Prediction |
| Yaya Toure | Sunderland | 63 | 10 |
| Kevin Nolan | Norwich City | 38 | 8 |
| Steven Gerrard | Fulham | 44 | 8 |
Toure: The midfielder’s total of 63 points is the fourth best in the league this season and he should thrive once more at the Stadium of Light against Sunderland.
Toure has netted five times in the league and has accumulated more than 10 points in six of City’s 10 league games. While Sunderland focus on Sergio Aguero and Alvaro Negredo, space should open up for Toure to come crashing through from midfield.
Nolan: Nolan may appear to be an odd choice, but matches against teams such as Norwich tend to be when he shines.
While the Canaries have struggled at the back, shipping 20 goals in 10 games, West Ham have struggled up front, scoring just eight goals. But Nolan is the type of player who can arrive late into the box and decide close games. This could be one of those times.
Gerrard: The Liverpool captain may have taken up a deeper role with age, but he should be able to come out and play against a Fulham side that have struggled this season.
Gerrard has chipped in with two goals and an assist in his last four games, and if Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge can open up the Fulham back four, then expect the skipper to benefit.
Strikers
| Player | Opponent | Total Points | Wk 11 Prediction |
| Sergio Aguero | Sunderland | 82 | 14 |
| Luis Suarez | Fulham | 48 | 8 |
| Daniel Sturridge | Fulham | 69 | 8 |
Aguero: The Argentine tops the fantasy table with 82 points, bagging a phenomenal 73 of those in his last six outings.
Aguero takes his talents to the Stadium of Light this weekend, and the sight of John O’Shea and Co. will be unlikely to throw him off his game.
Suarez: The Uruguyan will be eager to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat to Arsenal, and the visit of Fulham represents a good opportunity to get some more points on the board.
Suarez accumulated 61 points in his last five appearances and should keep up his solid run at Anfield this weekend.
Martin Jol’s side have represented a wayward group of individuals rather than a team this season, and after struggling to contain Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie last weekend, it’s highly unlikely that they will shackle Suarez.
Sturridge: While some worried that the return of Suarez would inhibit Sturridge’s progress, it has actually had the opposite effect.
With the Uruguayan for company, Sturridge has increased his average haul of points per game. With defences worrying about the talents of Suarez, the Englishman has been given the freedom to work his magic.
Expect more of the same from the Premier League’s top goalscorer this weekend.
