Chelsea vs. West Brom: Date, Time, Live Stream, TV Info and Preview

Timothy RappNov 8, 2013

Up and down go the Blues.

One week, Chelsea are good enough to knock off a talented Manchester City side, winning 2-1. The next, they are utterly shocked by Newcastle, losing 2-0.

One thing is for certain—the Blues are far better at home, currently with five wins in five matches at Stamford Bridge in league play.

West Brom have been steady, taking 12 points from their last seven matches, including a draw against Arsenal and a win versus Manchester United. They've lost just one road match in league play, though it was a blowout against Liverpool, 4-1.

Can Chelsea keep their home winning streak alive? Or will West Brom sneak an away point (or three)?

When: Saturday, November 9, 10 a.m. ET (3 p.m. GMT)

Where: Stamford Bridge, London, England

Watch: NBC Sports Live Extra

Odds: Chelsea (63.1 percent), West Brom (16.3 percent) and draw (20.7 percent), according to Bloomberg Sports

Key Storylines

Both of these teams are pretty solid defensively, Chelsea allowing just eight goals on the year while West Brom have conceded 10. Not surprisingly, however, Chelsea have outscored opponents at Stamford Bridge, 12-3.

For Chelsea, the story is always about the forwards. While the defense is steady and the midfield as loaded as any club in Europe, the revolving door of Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto'o and Demba Ba always comes with its share of questions.

Torres had a nice run of games going before he was a non-factor against Newcastle, while Eto'o is fresh off a brace in Champions League play. It will be interesting to see which man Jose Mourinho trusts in this contest.

West Brom were dealt a bit of bad news before this match, as defender Billy Jones could be out of action for as much as six weeks after hurting his hamstring.

Nicolas Anelka and Victor Anichebe should be back in action, however, so West Brom will get a boost in that regard.

Prediction

You don't bet against Mourinho at Stamford Bridge, plain and simple. The Blues may show cracks in the armor away from home, but in their digs they are really tough to beat.

Plus, they'll be motivated to erase the poor taste left in their mouths after the Newcastle loss.

West Brom will be competitive, but they won't steal any points. Chelsea win, 2-0.
