With Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool all continuing their jumble for shock dominance in the English top flight, a week’s rest could do the hierarchy some good, or it may move to upset their momentum.
That being said, there are storylines to be watched across the division, and you can be sure not to miss a minute of the drama with a full schedule and guide ahead of week 8.

Week 8’s Live Games
Newcastle United vs. Liverpool
Saturday, Oct. 19, 12:45 p.m. BST on BT Sport
Following their stumbles early on in the season, Newcastle United have entered a fairly fruitful period of the Premier League campaign, winning three of their last five matches, two of which were away from home.
However, the Magpies risk being reunited with that sinking feeling when they play host to high-flying Liverpool.
Brendan Rodgers’ side earned their second consecutive 3-1 victory last weekend, capitalising on the result at Sunderland with another three points, this time against Crystal Palace.
One worrying aspect of the Reds’ season so far, however, has been their ability to dominate for two halves, or lack thereof.
Against Ian Holloway’s men, Liverpool scored all three goals in the opening 45 minutes and have scored on both sides of halftime just once this league season.
West Ham vs. Manchester City
Saturday, Oct. 19, 5:30 p.m. BST on Sky Sports
Fans will be hoping for a more entertaining result than the 0-0 stalemate played out between these two sides in this fixture last term.
Having said that, the Hammers would be pleased with a clean sheet considering Manuel Pellegrini’s side are currently the highest scorers in the division and have failed to score in just one Premier League outing thus far.
With a 3-1 win over Everton floating their sails, the Citizens will look to continue their run at the Premier League’s top places with a result in East London, with West Ham having not kept a clean sheet at Upton Park since their opening-day win over Cardiff City.
Aston Villa vs. Tottenham Hotspur
Sunday, Oct. 20, 4 p.m. BST on Sky Sports
Having succeeded against Anzhi Makhachkala in midweek, Tottenham looked to be beginning to show the benefits of their newly acquired squad depth across multiple competitions.
However, they looked sluggish and lacked ideas going forward in a shock 3-0 home loss to West Ham, and Andre Villas-Boas will hope the international break serves his players well and that they return looking to make amends.
Fortunately for the North London outfit, they may not need much cohesion against an Aston Villa defence that’s currently third worst in the English top flight when playing on home soil, yet to keep a clean sheet at Villa Park.
As Sky Sports reported this weekend, Paul Lambert is far from overjoyed that Christian Benteke, barely recovering from injury, has been called up for Belgian international duty and will just hope his striker is fit in time to feature against Spurs.
Crystal Palace vs. Fulham
Monday, Oct. 21, 8 p.m. BST on Sky Sports
Far from the most delectable of London fixtures, Crystal Palace and Fulham will each look to escape their relegation-threatened woes next weekend when the two meet at Selhurst Park.
Fulham were slightly fortunate to claim a 1-0 win over Stoke City last weekend and can move onto 10 points with a win, whereas the Eagles are simply looking for another victory, the three points gained against Sunderland still being their only ones of the campaign.
The last time Holloway played host to a Fulham side came in his 2010-11 relegation season with Blackpool. Back then, the two teams played out an exciting 2-2 draw the likes of which Selhurst spectators can only hope is replicated this time around.
