Power Ranking the EPL Brazilians
Another week in the Premier League, another round of power rankings for the competitions' raft of Brazilians.
Coming back from international duty, some had a point to prove at their clubs whilst others looked to maintain their form in hope of a call-up to the Selecao.
The weekend was riddled with several horror shows from Brazilians, making for an unusual top five this week.
The rankings are based on individual performances in each round of the Premier League, focusing on the last game these Brazilians played rather than their form so far in the season.
5: Sandro
1 of 5Despite coming on for little over 10 minutes in Tottenham's 2-0 win over Norwich City, Sandro continued his return from injury with an assured performance.
The Brazilian slotted into the anchorman position with little fuss and completed all nine of his passes, according to Squawka,
With Etienne Capoue ruled out due to injury, the emphasis will be on Sandro to complete his return to the first team after fellow Brazilian Paulinho deputised in midfield.
And with some shocking performances from his fellow EPL Brazilians, Sandro makes the top five by virtue of keeping it simple.
4: Ramires
2 of 5Continuing as a regular starter under new Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, Ramires ended a superb week in disappointment as Everton upset the odds to snatch a 1-0 win.
Some excellent displays on international duty will have given the Brazilian a confidence boost but he was unable to prevent a defeat for the Blues.
A Steven Naismith header from a Jelavic pull back was enough to put Chelsea to bed, as Ramires attempted to get the side going in midfield to little avail.
An average performance by the Blues star, which is enough to put Ramires into the top five this weekend considering poor displays elsewhere.
3: Fabio
3 of 5Fabio was handed his first chance under new Manchester United boss David Moyes in their 2-0 win over Crystal Palace.
The Brazilian delivered a solid yet unspectacular performance as a Robin van Persie penalty and Wayne Rooney's stunning free-kick claimed all three points for the home side.
With Palace camped deep in their own half, Fabio was rarely troubled on the counterattack and relished the chance to get forward and contribute to the attack.
A decent display for the Brazilian as he sets about showing his credentials in the absence of twin brother Rafael.
2: Philippe Coutinho
4 of 5After some quiet games for Liverpool, Philippe Coutinho came back with a vengeance against Swansea City as the two sides battled it out to a 2-2 draw at the Liberty Stadium.
Swans starlet Jonjo Shelvey had a bizarre performance as he set up all four goals, including one for himself in the first minute with a miskick.
But Coutinho led the Reds attack in the opening stages, orchestrating superb flowing counterattacks, one of which resulted in a fine strike from debutant Victor Moses.
However, his game would meet a premature conclusion as a rash tackle from Swans defender Ashley Williams forced the youngster off with an injured shoulder.
His performance was not diminished by the injury, however, and a return to form deserves a second place finish this weekend.
1: Paulinho
5 of 5Fresh from two excellent displays for Brazil during the international break, Paulinho picked up where he left off in a superb 2-0 win for Tottenham over Norwich City.
A brace from Gylfi Sigurdsson was enough to secure the points as Paulinho lined up alongside playmaker Moussa Dembele as the deepest midfielder, protecting the defence.
The former Corinthians star was given the responsibility of dictating the play and setting the tempo, and he did so with aplomb.
As the game opened up in the second half, Paulinho was given more license to get forward, resulting in a fine assist for Sigurdsson's second, squaring the ball across the six-yard box.
A superb all-round display, which secures his place as B/R's EPL Brazilian of the weekend.
