Week 2 Fantasy Football Rankings: Under-the-Radar Options at Each Position
A week of fake football has passed, and Week 2 is chock full of under-the-radar players and matchups that will give crafty owners a huge advantage over the competition.
Known commodities such as Adrian Peterson performed as expected, but several under-the-radar players quietly put together strong performances that signify something better is to come in the future.
Week 2 sees these strong performances paired with favorable matchups that will ensure quality fantasy production. The following is an early look at the top 10 for each position, with a sneaky outlier who is poised to explode in Week 2. Act accordingly.

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap ๐ธ

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Quarterback: Terrelle Pryor, Oakland Raiders vs. Jacksonville Jaguarsย
The Terrelle Pryor doubters inside and outside the Oakland Raiders' organization have now been silenced.
No, the Raiders did not walk out of Week 1 with a victory over the Colts, but they did walk out with confidence and fantasy owners smart enough to pick up Pryor now have a hidden gem.
Pryor completed 65.5 percent of his passes for 217 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. He also added 112 yards on the ground.
Over 300 yards of total production is obtainable for Pryor each week thanks to his skill set, but especially so in Week 2 against a tanking Jacksonville Jaguars squad that put up no fight in Week 1 while scoring just two points.
Pryor is the real deal.
Running back: Joique Bell, Detroit Lions vs. Arizona Cardinals
Much of the focus in Detroit at the running back position, and technically overall, has been running back Reggie Bush.
Bush was outstanding in his Lions debut, but it was Joique Bell in his second-year with the team who truly turned some heads. Bell only rushed for 25 yards on six carries, but scored two touchdowns. Add in five receptions for 67 yards and suddenly the Lions have two stud fantasy options.ย
Bell comes cheap and is the guy in short-yardage situations. He'll continue to rack up solid touchdown numbers with Bush handling duties outside of the red zone.
Wide Receiver: Jerome Simpson, Minnesota Vikings vs. Chicago Bears
Not many gave Jerome Simpson a second glance in Minnesota, which makes sense. Greg Jennings came over from Green Bay to be the No. 1 and rookie Cordarrelle Patterson had plenty of hype as he stole a starting gig.
Owners should be paying attention now.
Simpson erupted for 140 yards on seven receptions in Week 1. Quarterback Christian Ponder targeted Simpson more than Patterson and Jennings despite his third listing on the depth chart.
While it would be foolish to think Simpson can repeat that kind of performance each week, it's clear Simpson has more chemistry with Ponder at the moment.
Tight End: Brandon Myers, New York Giants vs. Denver Broncos
Brandon Myers put together a quality year last season with a horrific Oakland Raiders squad before joining the New York Giants in free agency.
Myers' debut with the Giants went extremely well as he brought in seven receptions for 66 yards and a score.
Clearly one of Eli Manning's favorite targets already, Myers will see huge day against in Week 2 against the Denver Broncos in a matchup that will undoubtedly turn into an offensive shootout.
Kicker: Robbie Gould, Chicago Bears vs. Minnesota Vikings
The new offense in Chicago looks solid under head coach Marc Trestman, with Jay Cutler and the Bears posting 24 points on an elite Cincinnati unit in Week 1.
Robbie Gould is as sound as ever, but put his big leg on display against the Bengals with a franchise record 58-yard field goal.
Defense/Special Teams: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Dallas Cowboys
It's no small feat to hold a team to just two points, but that's exactly what the Kansas City Chiefs did in Week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Kansas City is loaded with talent, and pass-rushers Justin Houston and Tamba Hali are safe bets to score plenty of points each week. Against the weak offensive line of Dallas, expect big things from the unit.
