Mexico won last year's Toulon, and they'll be back to defend their crown this year as they begin in Group B.
Turkey lost out in the championship game last year, and they will not be making an appearance this year; neither will the Netherlands, who claimed third.
The ten teams will break into two groups with each side playing four round-robin matches. Four teams will advance and play a semifinal with the winner moving onto the championship game and the loser the third-place match. All matches are best of one.
A Closer Look at Team USA
The U.S. squad has yet to capture a Toulon Tournament championship, and this year's can't be counted out. Obviously, we'll learn a lot about this squad as it opens against the hosts, but Tab Ramos will helm an American side with talent.
Thirteen of the 22 players on this roster were members of the squad that took second at the 2013 CONCACAF U-20 Championship this past March in Mexico. And those 13 include defender Caleb Stanko and midfielder Benji Joya who split captain duties during that run.
Of course, that team was handled 3-1 by Mexico in the final that run as well.
The majority of the talent on this team is the product of the development of soccer in America. As Soccerwire.com notes, the U.S. Soccer Development Academy can be linked to 18 of the 22 players.
This tournament is wide open, and it will be an opportunity for the Americans to gain crucial experience in pressure situations.
