Schalke vs. Galatasaray
Currently tied 1-1 on aggregate
After playing to a 1-1 draw in the opening leg, Schalke (with the away-goal advantage) would largely be expected to progress through after this match is finished.
But there's a lot to like about the Turkish giants Galatasaray, who should have scored more than just the one goal in their first leg. They've now got Didier Drogba and Wesley Sneijder on hand, and with the likes of Burak Yilmaz threatening the goal, are nowhere near a walkover in this one.
Galatasaray have also performed much better away from home than they have at home all season, which could make for a thrilling affair in this one.
I think 1-1 for most of the match, with a shock late goal for the visitors giving them a 3-2 lead on aggregate that cannot be run down by the hosts.
Galatasaray win 2-1, win 3-2 on aggregate
Barcelona vs. AC Milan
AC Milan currently lead 2-0 on aggregate.
After sensationally being dumped 2-0 in their opening leg, Barcelona now have a very difficult task ahead of them in order to progress to the next round of the Champions League.
Not only do they need to peg back the two-goal margin, but they need to do so without allowing a goal at the other end—which, given the state of Barca's defense of late—seems like the bigger question for concern here for the Catalan club.
Milan are a solid defensive unit that won't give much away (like we saw in the first leg), but even they will succumb to the might of Barca at the Nou Camp. The question will be whether they can either score, or keep Barca to few enough goals that they still progress.
And the answer to that one seems like a yes.
Barcelona win 3-2, Milan win on 4-3 on aggregate
Malaga vs. Porto
Porto currently lead 1-0 on aggregate.
Porto dominated the first leg against Spanish giants Malaga but could only snare one goal on the night—making for a very fascinating second leg indeed.
Malaga have been a good attacking team for a while now and were mightily impressive in the group stage of the tournament (never trailing at all in any match). However, their recent struggles domestically, and against Porto, highlighted that perhaps they weren't quite at the same level now.
Porto are in a tight race domestically and will be looking for a strong performance here to keep a very strong year going, and even away from home, they should have enough midfield spark and attacking opportunities to pull through with a win here.
Malaga will simply be left to rue what could have been.
Draw 1-1, Porto win 2-1 on aggregate
Bayern Munich vs. Arsenal
Bayern Munich currently lead 3-1 on aggregate.
This one is pretty a much a no-brainer, given the fact that Bayern Munich tore apart Arsenal in their first leg and built up a huge lead heading back to Germany.
Their midfield and attack was simply too strong for the North London club to deal with, needing nothing short of a miracle to survive Bayern here.
Which, given their attacking dominance and unbelievable defensive solidity through the season so far, doesn't seem like for the visitors in this one.
Bayern Munich win 1-0, win 4-1 on aggregate
