College Football Locks for Week 11
With time running out in the college football regular season, teams across the country are scrambling to become bowl eligible, pick up steam in the conference standings and position themselves nationally.
Last week saw some incredible games go down to the wire as some of the nations elite escaped with victories.
While we are certainly going to see more outstanding finishes this coming weekend, here are five things you can count on seeing this Saturday.
Notre Dame Will Not Need Overtime Versus Boston College
1 of 5Notre Dame learned their lesson last week. While everyone was talking about how good they were and that they wouldn't be tested until their final game against USC, Pitt almost shocked them and earned a win.
This week, Notre Dame heads on the road to play Boston College. While the script is the same, the Irish will be a lot more level headed coming into this game and will take care of Boston College with ease.
Auburn Loses Another SEC Game
2 of 5After winning the national title just two years ago, something that Auburn fans never thought was possible is about to happen: the Tigers are about to go winless in the SEC.
This weekend, the Tigers welcome in Georgia, and out of the two games in conference they have left, this is the more probable of the two. Despite how close this may be early, the Bulldogs will pull ahead and win.
Once the game against Georgia has passed, the Tigers finish up with Alabama and finish up 0-8 in the SEC.
Oregon Destroys Cal
3 of 5The past two times that Oregon has made the trip to play Cal, they lost and then most recently in 2010, they escaped with a narrow win.
It appears that Cal has had the Ducks number when playing at home, but this Golden Bears team is much different and so are the Ducks.
This Saturday night, the Ducks will once again head on the road to play Cal. I do not expect this game to be even remotely close, as the Oregon defense will be looking for retribution and the offense will keep chugging along.
TCU Gets Everyone's Attention
4 of 5While TCU may not beat Kansas State this weekend, you can guarantee that they will have us watching the game deep into the fourth quarter, unlike most of the Big 12 has done.
With the offensive and defensive depth that the Horned Frogs have, they are a big test for the Wildcats. The health of Collin Klein is unknown and if he is unable to go or leaves the game early, this could get interesting in a hurry.
Stanford Steps Forward
5 of 5This weekend Oregon State heads to Stanford for a huge Pac-12 showdown. With both teams only having one conference loss, this game has become an elimination game in the conference race. The winner of this game will have a head-to-head date with Oregon and a chance to win the Pac-12 north, while the other is likely out of the race.
Playing at home, the Stanford offense appears to be hitting its stride, and with all of the question marks that the Beavers come into this game with, look for the Cardinal to emerge as the Ducks only competition.
