College Football 2012: Week 4 Against the Spread Picks

John RoeJun 7, 2018

College football is a unique animal.  Unlike the NFL, the majority of teams simply aren't evenly matched.  The result are point spreads that range from pick 'ems all the way through a record 69 points... that was covered!

Each week, if you take the time to mull through the seemingly endless choices of games, you'll always find a few diamonds in the rough.

Whether you legally gamble in a regulated environment, or if you just pick spreads as a friendly competition amongst friends, these are five games definitely worth adding to your list this week.

Kentucky at Florida -24

1 of 5

The Gator’s defense is legit this season, and the offense has gotten markedly better through the first three games of the season.

Kentucky, on the other hand, is coming off a loss to a Sun Belt team (though a pretty good one) and has major issues on the defensive side of the ball.

Look for this one to get ugly.

Pick: Eat the points Florida 42 Kentucky 7

UTEP at Wisconsin -18

2 of 5

Wisconsin has struggled mightily on offense to start the season.  Before you can expect to cover 18 points, you have to be able to score it first.

The Miners, on the other hand, have kept games close against the likes of Oklahoma and Ole Miss in the early parts of the season.

Pick:  Take the points Wisconsin 17 UTEP 7

UCONN at Western Michigan +1

3 of 5

UConn isn’t a bad defensive team.  In Week 2 they held pass-happy NC State and Mike Glennon to only 10 points.

Expect a similar effort against the Broncos this weekend.

Pick: Eat the single point, UConn 21 Western Michigan 10

Colorado at Washington State -20

4 of 5

Colorado is horrible.  They're the worst team from a BCS conference in America.

With that said, Washington State isn’t much better.  I can’t see them covering 20 points against anyone, including the Buffs.

Pick: Take the Points Washington State 35 Colorado 21

LSU at Auburn -20.5

5 of 5

Most seasons, three touchdowns is an awful lot to give up to an SEC team not named Kentucky or Ole Miss.

However, in this case it’s warranted.

The Auburn offense is just plain bad.  Expect this one to get out of hand... in a hurry.

Pick: Eat the Points, LSU 42 Auburn 7
