AC Milan vs. Anderlecht: Home Draw Shows How Far Rossoneri Have Fallen
After AC Milan lost its first two home games of the season for the first time in 82 years, the club was peppered with boos on Tuesday at San Siro following a 0-0 draw with Anderlecht in Champions League play.
On and on it goes for Milan this season.

On Tuesday, Milan got off 20 shots (including four on goal), but was unable to capitalize. That number may even be misleading, because it was Anderlecht that actually got the better of the chances at San Siro.
What was so frustrating for Milan fans on Tuesday was the fact that Anderlecht was prime for a loss, missing several scoring opportunities, but the Rossoneri weren't able to capture a match that was practically gift-wrapped.
Milan has now scored just three goals in its past four games, and all of those came against Bologna. The club has yet to score a goal at home after getting shut out by Atalanta on Saturday.
Perhaps the only sigh of relief for Milan after the match was the fact that there were less than 28,000 fans in the 80,000-capacity stadium. A full crowd jeering the home club may have been too much to bear.
Now, Brazil forwards Alexandre Pato and Robinho are both nursing leg injuries and were not available on Tuesday, so scoring has certainly been harder to come by. Still, that's no excuse for scoring zero goals in three home matches.
There was hope among Milan fans (albeit a glimmer) that the Rossoneri would pull it together to start off Champions League play against Anderlecht. After all, Milan had gone on to win the Champions League the last two times it faced the Belgian side in the group stages.
But it was not to be on Tuesday.
The question now becomes: How far will the Rossoneri fall this season?
