6 Highly Touted Recruits That USC May Not Have Room for Anymore
A forgotten part of recruiting is that it is also a business. Schools have to make the best decisions for themselves as well as getting the best players possible. They can't offer everyone a scholarship and everyone they do offer a scholarship to they may not have room for.
While Michigan is getting to being up against their scholarship limit for this 2013 cycle, it's USC who really has to crunch numbers. The Trojans currently sit at 18 commitments and probably are done with recruiting for the most part.
Yet, a scholarship or two could indeed come open during or after the season and that's why USC must continue to court select prospects. Yet, that is still uncertain, so here are six highly touted recruits that USC may not have anymore room left for.
6. Johnny Johnson Jr., CB
1 of 6The central California native has an offer from USC according to Scout.com. Although right now he is slated to trip to both Notre Dame and Oklahoma this fall.
Stanford, Cal and UCLA are also options for Johnson. If he was thinking about USC then he may have missed the boat, as room in the Trojans' 2013 class is all but gone right now.
5. Tahaan Goodman, S
2 of 6Goodman is a teammate of USC commit Chris Hawkins, so you can only imagine how much he's been talked to about the Trojans.
Still open in his recruitment today, the 6'2", 190-pound Goodman has an offer from USC, but his only scheduled visit this fall is to LSU, reports Scout.com.
4. Leon McQuay, S
3 of 6McQuay is a Florida native that had a top three of Michigan, USC and Vanderbilt at one time, but he tells Scout.com that is no longer the case. McQuay is looking to decide in November and has a visit to USC set up this fall.
Notre Dame, Oregon and Florida State are also suitors for the 6'1", 185-pound safety.
3. Montravius Adams, DT
4 of 6Adams plans to visit USC at some point, along with Oregon and LSU, per Scout.com. Michigan State, Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee are also in the mix.
Those are all great schools, but this race is probably down to Auburn and Clemson right now. USC will continue to recruit Adams in all likelihood, as the 6'3", 290-pound DT has dominant potential. Yet, with limited spacing and Auburn and Clemson looking good, I would think he ends up not in Hollywood.
2. Priest Willis, DB
5 of 6Willis is one of the best overall players in the country. From Arizona, he stands 6'2", 190-pounds and can play cornerback and safety.
USC has offered him, based on his Scout.com profile, but Michigan, UCLA and LSU could be the favorites now that the Trojans have just about ran out of room. Look for Willis to still be courted by USC and one of the main prospects they try to squeeze a scholarship for.
1. Laremy Tunsil, OT
6 of 6ESPNU-Dawg Nation reported last night that Tunsil informed him of his five official visits and USC is one of the school that he will trip to.
A 5-star OT prospect with a LT skill set, I imagine that somehow and someway USC will make room for the 6'6", 295-pound Florida native should he decide USC is the place for him.
Georgia is the likely leader right now, but USC is still in the mix; room or no room.
