These 5 NBA Superstars Have the Most Annoying Fans

Adam FromalJun 7, 2018

Every superstar has his fair share of fans, but some have a little bit too many. They can be loud, obnoxious and just plain annoying.

All of them think that their favorite player is better than he actually is, and all of them like to make that perfectly clear.

Part of being a sports fan is being a fanatic, but these guys and gals take it to a whole different level.

Read on to find out which five superstars have the most annoying fans.

Carmelo Anthony

1 of 5

Carmelo Anthony has his fair share of detractors. There are plenty of people who argue that he's too selfish to succeed, that he creates problems on the teams he goes to and that he's extremely overrated.

However, Melo has plenty of super-fans as well. They're the ones who think he's the greatest offensive player since sliced bread and that he can do no wrong with the ball in his hands.

Melo is a wonderful offensive player and one of the best pure scorers in the current NBA, but he's not perfect.

Some fans won't believe it, but he actually does force up shots occasionally and tends to be a bit of a ball-stopper.

Kobe Bryant

2 of 5

It's impossible to talk about Kobe Bryant without stirring up a little bit of controversy.

Say he's a top-10 player in NBA history and you'll inevitably get the following responses:

"Not a chance. He never shot the ball too well and was a ball-hog during his entire career. He isn't even in the top 20."

"Top 10? That's all? Seriously? The dude has five championships and he's clearly better than Jordan."

No player in the NBA inspires the same divide that Kobe creates.

Monta Ellis

3 of 5

Over the past few years, I've gotten increasingly tired of people arguing that Monta Ellis is an All-Star snub.

He's actually not in the All-Star game because he hasn't deserved to be in that select group of NBA players who are either more popular or better than everyone else.

Ellis is a tremendous scorer with a nose for doing the impossible on offense, but his scoring numbers are elevated because he's a relatively inefficient volume scorer.

He isn't a defensive force, despite what his steal numbers may show. He records steals because he gambles too often. The steals don't make up for the easy opportunities that he allows.

Ellis should be receiving some consideration for an All-Star berth, but the amount of people fired up about him not making the squad is a little bit ridiculous.

LeBron James

4 of 5

LeBron James is the best player in the NBA and a deserving NBA champion after putting together one of the greatest regular seasons and postseasons that this league has ever seen.

He's on the fast-track towards becoming one of the greatest historical players as well.

But please. Do not compare him to Michael Jordan at this stage of his career.

Just don't.

Rajon Rondo

5 of 5

Although Rajon Rondo is one of the better point guards in the NBA, he still has his flaws.

Rondo is an awful free-throw shooter, making him a liability at the end of a close game. His jumper isn't much better, even if it did look new and improved during parts of the postseason.

This guy deserves to be an All-Star point guard, but the claim that he's the best in the league at his position is a little bit out there.

Rondo should still trail Chris Paul, Derrick Rose, Russell Westbrook and Deron Williams in the point guard rankings.
