Pacers vs. Heat: Miami Will End Series in Game 6

Phil GJun 7, 2018

After last night's debacle, this series is over, folks. The feel-good Indiana Pacers will fall at the hands of Dwyane Wade and LeBron James in tomorrow's Game 6.

Game 5 of this electric series has come down to one major statistical category: rebounds. The smaller Miami Heat out-rebounded the much bigger Indiana Pacers 49-35 in their triumphant victory Tuesday night.

In Indiana's two victories over the Heat, including their win in Miami in Game 2, the Pacers have out-rebounded the Miami Heat by at least 10 boards. The same can be said for Miami in their three victories.

It also helps, when Wade and James combine for 58 of the team's 115 points. Despite huge performances by the big two, this was a team victory for the Miami Heat.

Both Shane Battier, who was an abysmal 2-of-12 from behind the arc before last night's victory, and Joel Anthony provided huge minutes for the Heat.

In addition, Udonis Haslem proved critical off the bench, as James stated in his post-game interview, per the Sun Sentinel.

While the Indiana Pacers have shown to be the deeper team, they lack the star power to compete with the Heat on a consistent game-to-game basis.

Danny Granger and Roy Hibbert, two of the Indiana's best players, combined for 18 points last night. Of course, Granger did not play in the second half, but the same can't be said for Hibbert.

There was no need to intimately discuss Hibbert's performance, as the Indiana Pacers team executive and Hall of Fame legend Larry Bird said it all in his short, but simple message to his team.

This was a physical series, and one that many felt benefited the Pacers, but in reality, the Heat have been the aggressors.

I expect no less in Game 6.
