JaVale McGee Dominates Lakers, Chucks Game Ball in Celebration

Gabe ZaldivarJun 7, 2018

JaVale McGee may be the best thing to happen to the NBA since Craig Sager's awful outfits, Charles Barkley's mouth or LeBron James' receding hairline.

Maniac McGee was back at it again, leaving the circus antics to just after he dominated the Lakers in a dramatic Denver Nuggets playoff win at the Staples Center.

The most underrated center in the league had 21 points and 14 rebounds and generally outplayed Andrew Bynum, the man who said it would be rather easy to win close-out games

None of that is what really makes me smile, because I don't watch McGee games for the dunks or the rebounds. It's like going to see the Three Stooges for nuance and character development.

I watch him because I know something hilarious is going to happen, and it will be over in the blink of an eye.

On Tuesday night, McGee didn't disappoint, although we had almost lost all hope. The moment came at the end of the broadcast when the Nuggets center was being interviewed by Craig Sager, the only man whose closet resembles that of Willy Wonka's.

Sager interviewed the player that was no doubt the MVP of the night, and concluded his interview by imploring with McGee to hold onto that game ball.

It's at that point that the thought of holding onto the game ball rattled around McGee's dome for a spell, and then, this

Yay.

Anytime a McGee game is on I implore anyone in the house to come and watch, and it's usually in the tone of shouting.

They run over and ask, "why what did he do?"

The answer is simple. He hasn't done much, but he will. That guarantee is as bankable as someone asking what the hell Shaquille O'Neal just said or that Stan Van Gundy will sweat in an air-conditioned arena.

These things are just givens.

Here is a great breakdown of McGee's legacy up to this point, complete with some spelling errors and expletives.

As you can see, McGee is a special basketball player.

You can have your LeBron Jameses and Kobe Bean Bryants, but I will take the magician of the unexpected, the wizard of the unexplained and the king of hilarity.

I give you JaVale McGee, and you are welcome.
