Snubs
No All-Star announcement would be complete without at least a couple snubs and slights. Here are the players that some believe should be on their way to Orlando.
Rajon Rondo: The Celtics star guard is one of the biggest snubs. His points are up to 13.9 per game, and despite the Celtics awful year he has been the brightest spot on the team. Forget the fact that he missed a good amount of games. He is still one of the best in the game at the point.
Josh Smith: The Hawks would be nothing without Josh Smith. If Johnson makes it, Smith should have.
Monta Ellis: The Warriors house one of the best scorers in the game, but he will be watching the All-Star game from home. This is only a slight snub considering his production has taken a slight hit so far this season.
Tim Duncan: His numbers suggest that he has no business playing in Orlando. However, if Nowitzki is going to make it, there is a slight argument about legacy. With that being said, we just had to note the rare occasion in which Duncan does not make the All-Star game.
Interesting Inclusions
Dirk Nowitzki: The German star was voted into the game on name alone, as he continues to have his worst season since he entered the NBA. We may forgive him though, considering the memories he gave in the NBA Finals last year.
Roy Hibbert: I would have loved to have seen Danny Granger make the team, but at least Indiana gets some love with Hibbert.
