Paul Pierce and 13 NBA Players We Can't Imagine in Another Jersey
In today's age of sports, very few athletes get the chance or even want the chance to spend their entire career in one uniform.
It's become a rarity of sorts.
In the NBA, though, there are a few guys that could get that chance.
Some of these guys might not end up getting the opportunity, but here's a look at some NBA stars that would be hard to imagine wearing another team's jersey.
Kobe Bryant
1 of 13Despite Bryant sometimes expressing his displeasure in Los Angeles and even asking to be traded before, it wouldn't be right to see Bryant wearing anything but a Lakers uniform.
He's a big part of the long Lakers tradition and it would be a shame to even see him play an NBA game somewhere else.
Tim Duncan
2 of 13There's nothing to worry about with Duncan.
As long as he remains in the NBA, he will be in a San Antonio Spurs uniform.
Paul Pierce
3 of 13The future of Pierce in Boston could be in doubt, but it would be a shame if he's traded.
Pierce is a major reason why the Celtics became prominent again, as well as why they became champions.
It would be a shame to see that work undone and for Pierce finish his Hall of Fame career somewhere else.
Derrick Rose
4 of 13Rose is young and has plenty of years left in his career, but it would be weird not to see him remain in a Chicago uniform for the entirety of that great career.
The reigning MVP is the reason the Bulls have become one of the NBA's best franchises again.
He should be in a Bulls jersey until he retires.
Dirk Nowitzki
5 of 13Nowitzki got his ring, so there's no need for him to ever want out of Dallas.
He's one of the guys throughout history who's synonymous with a team. When you think of the Mavericks, you think of Nowitzki first.
That's something that should never change.
Dwyane Wade
6 of 13Miami may have their "Big Three" in place now, but before that, the Heat were Wade's team.
If LeBron James and Chris Bosh take their talents elsewhere when their current contracts expire, Wade is one guy that should always have a Heat jersey in his locker.
Kevin Durant
7 of 13Oklahoma City has become an NBA hotbed thanks to Durant and a roster filled with young talent.
Whether or not the Thunder ever win an NBA championship, the one thing they must always do is keep Durant in town.
Technically he has worn another uniform, but since Seattle moved to Oklahoma City, we are counting it as one franchise for him.
Down the road, priority No. 1 for the Thunder should be locking up Durant for life.
Blake Griffin
8 of 13Griffin is young and a lot can happen in his career still, but he's been the catalyst for an unthinkable turnaround for the Clippers.
They haven't had the best track record when it comes to keeping players around, but with Griffin they need to make that happen.
LaMarcus Aldridge
9 of 13Aldridge is a stud and will be one of the best power forwards in the game for years to come.
Portland needs a face of their franchise for the next decade. They need to do what it takes to make sure Aldridge is that guy.
Rajon Rondo
10 of 13With Boston's "Big Three" all but done as a unit, Rondo is the guy to lead the Celtics throughout the next decade.
Danny Ainge tried to trade him in the offseason, but as one of the premier point guards in the NBA, Rondo should be wearing green throughout his entire career.
Rudy Gay
11 of 13Gay has seen it all throughout his short time in Memphis. He's been on some very bad Grizzlies teams and is now a part of what looks to be a promising future.
Memphis has done a good job of locking up their core so far and need to continue that trend in order to make sure Gay spends his entire career in Memphis.
Russell Westbrook
12 of 13The Thunder locked up Westbrook with a five-year extension recently and would be wise to keep the Durant-Westbrook combination in town for the length of their careers.
At the end of the day, it would be hard for either not to be seen in an Oklahoma City jersey.
Manu Ginobili
13 of 13Ginobili has been as important to the Spurs success over the years as anyone. Both he and Duncan definitely should play their careers out in San Antonio before their jerseys head to the rafters.
