Michigan Football Recruiting 2012: What's Lacking Most from Brady Hoke's Class?
The Michigan Wolverines appear to be on the rise with head coach Brady Hoke. They won double-digit games and reached a BCS bowl for the first time since 2006. That was their first year with Hoke and they look to accomplish even more next season.
The Wolverines have an excellent recruiting class coming in, but as always, your recruiting class could always be better. There's no reason to settle for less, when you have great prospects still out there that are uncommitted.
Here are a few positions that Michigan is lacking right now in this year's class.
Cornerback
1 of 3The cornerback position is a need for the Wolverines moving forward considering there are a couple that are graduating this season. They have landed a top corner in Terry Richardson, but he can't do it all on his own. Depth is needed.
One of the top cornerbacks in the country in Armani Reeves is scheduled for a visit tomorrow with the team. Another corner in Yuri Wright is also scheduled for a visit that same day. If the Wolverines are able to pick up either one of these players the secondary will look a lot better than it does right now.
Wide Receiver
2 of 3With Junior Hemingway, Darryl Stonum, Martavious Odoms and Kelvin Grady all on their way out, it's safe to say this team needs people to catch the football.
One of the top players in this year's class is a wide receiver by the name of Amara Darboh, but Michigan needs more than that to help the quarterbacks out. Although Stefon Diggs hasn't shown Michigan much love lately, you have to consider them still in the race. The Wolverines are also still in the running for wide receiver Monty Madaris, who has cut his list down to five schools.
Michigan may not need a top-notch wide receiver, but adding depth to the position is a must.
Guard
3 of 3Michigan has an extremely deep class full of offensive tackles, but almost nobody that plays the guard position. With one of the top players at the guard position still on the board, the Wolverines have a chance to really complete a dominant offensive line.
Joshua Garnett is a 6'5", 275-pound guard is one of the top linemen in this year's class. He has a very high football IQ and has a motor that just doesn't quit. The first school he visited was Michigan, but he's also looking at schools like Notre Dame, Stanford, UCLA and USC, among others.
