Jake Paul Offers Mike Tyson Extra $5M if He Can Go More Than 4 Rounds in Boxing Fight
Jake Paul said in a TikTok video Tuesday that he would give Mike Tyson an additional $5 million if the legendary boxer can last more than four rounds when the two face off in an eight-round bout on Nov. 15.
If Tyson doesn't last five rounds, though, he would need to get a tattoo that reads "I love Jake Paul."
According to Josh Peter of USA Today, "Tyson and his camp have not publicly responded to the offer."
Paul could be baiting the former world champion into trying to stretch out the fight, given the questions regarding the 58-year-old's stamina against a 27-year-old opponent.
"At (58) years old, man, eight rounds is not going to be easy for him," trainer Robert Garcia told Peter in late September. "It's going to be hard. He's dangerous because he is a strong person. But I don't think it takes more than one or two rounds before he probably won't be able to do much."
Tyson also hasn't fought since 2005. While Paul's opponents have only really consisted of fellow YouTubers, former athletes, washed-up MMA fighters and low-level boxers, he's acquitted himself well against that level of competition, going 10-1, with his lone loss coming against Tommy Fury.
He isn't a complete pushover, in other words, and should provide a legitimate test for the much older Tyson.
"He's in shape," former boxer and trainer Ann Wolfe told Peter regarding Tyson. "But I would like to see how his body does when he takes a punch."
The best chance for Tyson to win, then—assuming stamina indeed plays a factor—may be an early knockout of Paul. If he decides to try to draw out the fight, though, he may be able to add $5 million to his bank account if he takes the YouTuber's bait.
