Under Armour All-America Game 2012: Top Undeclared Recruits Sure to Shine
The 2012 Under Armour All-America Game: where you can watch sure-fire college stars before they become college stars.
That's been the unofficial running theme for the game since its inception in 2008—a place where high school recruits can shine before they take the next step.
Before Thursday night's All-America Game, here are three undeclared recruits who are sure to shine.
3. Cyrus Jones, ATH
Cyrus Jones is an exceptional athlete—that's the first thing you need to know about him.
His speed, instincts and explosiveness also could make him a receiver or cornerback in college ball.
Jones is deciding between Alabama and Virginia Tech, with the Crimson Tide holding the advantage (when do they not?).
Wherever he plays, he is sure to be a playmaker, but he has a complete game as a cornerback. That's where I see him landing, next to Nick Saban.
2. Davonte Neal, ATH
Davonte Neal is also being looked at as either a cornerback or receiver.
Despite Neal's smaller size, his speed and acceleration—not to mention his fluidity—make him a great prospect. He has quick feet and also should be a tremendous return man from the start.
Neal is considering Ohio State, Notre Dame and USC, among others. Whoever lands him should be mighty happy.
1. Landon Collins, S
Landon Collins is a scary prospect.
As the No. 7 overall recruit, according to ESPNU, it's no wonder the top safety prospect in the nation can choose between LSU and Alabama—the two best defensive teams in the country this season.
Collins is a strong, tough player built for the bruising SEC. He closes with alarming explosiveness and burst, and he should force more than a few fumbles and nab plenty of interceptions in the SEC.
He's also a well-rounded safety with the ability to be physical against the run and be a threat blitzing quarterbacks.
In all, a player who should raise eyebrows right away in his first collegiate season.
