Stephen Curry Injury Panics Warriors Twitter After Beating Mavs with Luka Dončić Out

Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry left his team's 119-113 home win over the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday with a lower left leg injury. X-rays were negative, and he is scheduled to get an MRI, per a team statement.

Curry posted 21 points, seven assists and six rebounds in 26 minutes against a Mavs team missing superstar Luka Dončić (heel). The nine-time All-Star and four-time NBA champion entered the evening averaging 29.7 points, 6.4 assists and 6.4 rebounds per game.

The 34-year-old previously missed 11 games after suffering a left shoulder subluxation in a Dec. 14 matchup with the Indiana Pacers. He returned to form after the ailment, however, averaging 29.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.5 assists in 11 games from Jan. 10 to Feb. 2.

Thankfully, X-rays were negative, but Curry could end up missing more time after the latest injury. That would obviously be a devastating blow to the 27-26 Warriors, who are fighting just to make the playoffs this year after winning the NBA championship last season.

Naturally, many folks are wishing Curry the best.

The Warriors' next game is at home Monday versus the Oklahoma City Thunder. They have five games between. Feb. 6-14 before an eight-day All-Star break.
