2012 NFL Draft Order: Browns Big Winner with Top 10 Set
The top 10 picks in the NFL draft are set and its official: the Colts have the No. 1 pick. Despite the defense's best efforts to win the last three games of the year, brace yourself for four months of analyzing what Indy does with their top pick.
The big question: Peyton Manning or Andrew Luck?
1. Indianapolis Colts (2-14)
2. St. Louis Rams (2-14)
3. Minnesota Vikings (3-13)
4. Cleveland Browns (4-12)
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-12)
6. Jacksonville Jaguars (5-11)
7. Washington Redskins (5-11)
8. Carolina Panthers (6-10)
9. Miami Dolphins (6-10)
10. Buffalo Bills (6-10)
The Jacksonville Jaguars inexplicably won and cost themselves two big spots in the draft. The Browns “win” the tiebreaker over the Bucs and get the fourth pick, which means they will be drafting stud receiver Justin Blackmon. The Browns have the most vanilla offense in the league, and they desperately need a guy like Blackmon.
So do the Buccaneers, and that’s why the Browns are the big winners here. They don’t have to worry about drafting up and surrendering late-round picks to make sure they get their man.
With the addition of the Atlanta Falcons' first-round pick that was acquired in the Julio Jones draft day trade last year, the Browns are a strong draft away from being a strong contender with a plethora of depth for once.
If they indeed select Blackmon, the Browns enter the 2012 season has a big sleeper in the AFC.
The other team to luck out with draft positioning is the Carolina Panthers. They won the three-way tie over the Dolphins and Bills for the eighth pick.
