Michael Jordan Engagement Ring: His Airness Woos Yvette Prieto with Crazy Bling

Michael Jordan is better known for earning rings than giving them out, but don't tell that to Yvette Prieto. According to WCNC, the former Chicago Bulls legend and current owner of the Charlotte Bobcats proposed to Prieto, his girlfriend of three years, on Christmas.

Some reports suggest that the engagement ring that His Airness bequeathed to Prieto cost him seven figures, (i.e. Kobe Bryant "apology" territory), though Jordan's public relations department has yet to release a statement regarding his wife-to-be's shiny new bling.

Nor is there any official word regarding how much paperwork accompanied Prieto's fancy fingerwear. MJ is still recovering from a nasty divorce from Juanita Vanoy, his now-ex-wife to whom he was married for 17 years and with whom he fathered three children. The settlement cost Jordan a whopping $168 million, making his the most expensive split in entertainment history at the time.

Now comes the difficult part, for Yvette, at least. By accepting MJ's proposal, Prieto, 16 years her future hubby's junior, has committed herself to spending the foreseeable future with a man known as much for his gambling, drinking and womanizing off the court as his fierce competitive streak on it.

On the bright side, she won't ever have to worry about fighting through lines and defending herself against angry mobs to get her hands on a pair of Air Jordans.

It's only a matter of time before Yvette's paraded around town with the latest addition to her jewelry collection, though MJ may want to make sure his Cuban-American model-wife-to-be doesn't spend too much time comparing rocks with Vanessa Bryant.
