Sara Civian
Sara Civian is a sports and culture writer with a decade of experience and stops along the way. Born and raised in Boston, she's been back in her hometown city for the past four years since joining the Bleacher Report squad. Before that, she spent five years learning the writing ropes at Penn State, and served as managing editor for PSU's student-run news site Onward State. Then, she spent four years with The Athletic, covering the rise of the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes. She's still opining on the National Hockey League as a whole with Bleacher Report, plus she's branching out and covering more of her favorite sports: the WNBA, the NBA, golf, tennis, and more. She specializes in culture and keeps tabs on what's trending across all sports leagues on and off the court.
