England has reached the 2026 World Cup semifinals after a 2-1 victory against Norway following extra time in Miami.
Norway's opener was a bolt from the blue, with Harry Kane getting robbed in midfield before Andreas Schjelderup was released on the left. His stunning left-foot strike from an awkward angle sailed over Jordan Pickford's head and in off the right-hand post.
But England wouldn't be behind for long. In the 47th minute, Anthony Gordon found Jude Bellingham in the middle, and the Real Madrid star charged into the penalty area, around a couple of Norway defenders, and slotted the ball past goalkeeper Ørjan Nyland.
Ten minutes into the second half, Norway thought they were back in front through Torbjørn Heggem. However, after the referee checked the VAR screen, he ruled it out for a push on Elliot Anderson from future teammate Erling Haaland.
Norway had the better opportunities in the second half, but with the game at a stalemate after 90 minutes, extra time was needed.
England needed only three minutes to get themselves in front, and it was Bellingham again who proved the difference. The Three Lions started the extra period brightly, and goalkeeper Nyland spilled a Morgan Rogers shot into the path of the No. 10, who gladly tapped home from close range to send his nation into the final four for the first time since 2018.
Up next for England is a meeting with either Argentina or Switzerland, who face off in Kansas City at 9 p.m. ET. The semifinal matchup will take place in Atlanta on July 15 at 3 p.m. ET.

England and Norway head into halftime of their 2026 World Cup quarterfinal tied at 1-1. Andreas Schjelderup opened the scoring in the 36th minute before Jude Bellingham brought things level just before the break.
Despite being seemingly content to sit back with 10 men behind the ball for much of the opening half, the Scandinavian side opened the scoring.
Harry Kane was dispossessed in the middle of the park, and England practically stopped playing. Schjelderup was then found in space on the edge of the box, and the Benfica winger powered a left-footed shot over Pickford and in off the right-hand post.
Norway could have made it two after piling on the pressure following the opener, but it was England that got the quick reply.
Bellingham burst into the box and slipped past a defender, managing to fire the ball low past Ørjan Nyland to level the scores.
England thought it would go into the half ahead after Kane converted, but it was correctly ruled out for offside.
England had dominated possession but struggled to get past a stubborn Norway backline until the Real Madrid star's crucial strike.
