HT - Brazil 3, Haiti 0

It felt inevitable, didn't it? Brazil lead Haiti by three goals at the break after plenty of one-way traffic in Philadelphia.
While Haiti started the game with plenty of aggression, they couldn't slow down Brazil's star-studded attack. Haiti, facing elimination if they fail to make a miracle comeback in the second period, didn't shy away from physicality. Carlens Arcus picked up a yellow card inside the first five minutes of the match and Danley Jean Jacques went in hard on Vinicius Jr. — we also had some time wasting with veteran goalkeeper Johny Placide taking too long on an early goal kick and conceding a corner kick as a result.
Brazil, with Vinicius Jr. and Raphinha on the wings and Matheus Cunha starting up top in place of Igor Thiago, proved too difficult to stop in the attacking third. It was Cunha who put Brazil up 1-0 in the 23rd minute when he cleaned up a rebound from a Vinicius Jr. strike. Cunha went on to double the lead, adding a second goal with an emphatic effort in the 36th minute. Vinicius Jr. eventually made it 3-0 just before the break.
If there was a negative for Brazil, it's that Raphinha exited in the 40th minute with an injury. While he won't be missed much in this game, he may well be missed later in the tournament.
