Derrick Rose, Other NBA Legends Featured in TNT Promo for Season Opener
With the harmonies of Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors playing in the background, TNT opened the first day of the lockout-delayed 2011 NBA season with a promo that was worth wrapping for Christmas Sunday.
This video will make any NBA fan reflect on some of the greatest players in the history of the league and the vision of them running out on the court with their present-day counterparts.
How about the duo of Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen, in the Windy City of the 1990s, alongside the NBA's most recent Most Valuable Player, Derrick Rose? They would join forces to form one of the greatest lineups for the Chicago Bulls.
I would love to see a showdown of Steve Nash and Pete “Pistol” Maravich as the two court generals of two different eras rack up the most assists in the history of an NBA game.
As one of the best big men in the NBA today, the matchup of the Magic’s Dwight Howard and the legendary Wilt Chamberlain of the Los Angeles Lakers would be amazing.
In addition to the aforementioned NBA legends featured in the video, we see Tim Duncan with Bill Walton, Dirk Nowitzki going one-on-one with Larry Bird and Knicks’ fan Spike Lee giving Boston’s Bill Russell the business from the sidelines at Madison Square Garden.
All of the great images featured in this video cannot be summed up in one article, so you will need to watch this more than once to catch all of the legends and stars.
So Bleachers, what do you think of this epic NBA promo? Which of these classic meetings would you love to see on the court?
