Air Jordan Retro 11 Concords: Greed Leads to Arrests in Shameful Holiday Display

Gabe ZaldivarDec 23, 2011

I am embarrassed to be a human being right now.

The term "limited quantities" met the hype of yet another Jordan sneaker release which then mixed with greed. The recipe was disastrous as it was allowed to stew for hours outside stores in states such as Indiana, Florida and Texas.

At some point, IQs began to drop and the primal urge of want took over, and the release of the Air Jordan Retro 11 Concords became a disaster.

Happy Holidays, and now can we get anything for your trampled body?

Multiple news sources carried a trending story that saw many people hurt in a release of a mere sneaker. ABC News reported on what they called, "pandemonium."

The Contra Costa Times reports a gun was fired at the Hilltop Mall in Richmond, Calif.

In the video below, you can see a wave of people plowing into a store to get their hands on shoes that are nothing more than faux leather and some laces.

It's a sad sight when the regard for another human completely gets trumped by something tangible. What is the going rate to belittle another with violence? Well, the shoes are going for $180.

That way, 20 years from now when the shoes are tattered or more likely gone for good, you can tell people that you purchased an item that in the grand scheme of things is useless.

I tried to come up with the word that placed the correct finger on the situation. There is of course anger that something so stupid can get so much aplomb.

There is frustration in that humans smart enough to tie their own shoes don't realize what a waste this madness all is.

The whole situation is disgusting and it makes me sick.

That will have to do as I watch people from all walks of life turn over their brains like zombies to shoes.

There are those in parts of the world that would flash a great big smile if they were given but a sandal, and here we are fighting for the right to own something that has no real meaning.

Happy Holidays indeed.
