Comparing the 2012 CFB Recruiting Classes of FSU, Florida and Miami
With the college football season coming to a close, it's time to begin focusing on recruiting. Which top players are going to commit where, and which teams are going to load up on young talent? If your team was struggling last year, they could improve quickly with a fantastic recruiting class.
That seems to be the case for the major three Florida schools which, of course, are University of Florida, Florida State and University of Miami. All three powerhouse programs struggled last season, but have solid recruiting classes and appear ready to rise back to the top of the college football world.
Here is where each team sits right now.
Florida State

Three-Star Recruits: 3
Florida State has a great recruiting class with a lot of top players, including quarterback Jameis Winston. But the problem is a lot of their top players are only verbal commitments and nothing is concrete just yet.
Running back Mario Pender is a lock, and he's one of the top backs in the country as he has great acceleration and breaks tons of tackles. The Seminoles also got commitments from one of the top kickers in Cason Beatty, and three solid defensive ends.
Other notable additions: Daniel Glauser, Justin Shanks, Marvin Bracy and Dante Fowler
University of Miami Hurricanes
2 of 3Five-Star Recruits: 2
Four-Star Recruits: 3
Three-Star Recruits: 17
The Hurricanes' top recruit is running back Duke Johnson, who is a top-five back in this year's class. They also added three defensive ends with Jelani Hamilton having the highest expectations at 6'5", 245 pounds.
Miami has one of the deepest recruiting classes, with a total of 28 commitments—22 of those being at least 3-star players. The recruits are also scattered out evenly, as there are 14 each on offense and defense.
It looks like what Al Golden is doing at Miami is really paying off quickly.
Other notable additions: Raphael Kirby, Ereck Flowers, Angelo Jean-Louis and Dwayne Hoilett
University of Florida Gators
3 of 3Five-Star Recruits: 2
Four-Star Recruits: 10
Three-Star Recruits: 6
Florida has to have the No. 1 recruiting class right now out of all of the major colleges in the state. They landed one of the top cornerbacks in the country in Brain Poole, and one of the best offensive tackles in D.J. Humphries.
They added probably the best tight end of this year's class as well, with the addition of Kent Taylor. And with Jeff Demps and Chris Rainey on their way out, the Gators added Matt Jones, who has great acceleration.
Other notable additions: Colin Thompson, Marcus Maye, Jessamen Dunker and Rhaheim Ledbetter
