Tyson Chandler to Knicks: Projecting New York Knicks Starting Lineup
The New York Knicks finally have landed their center they needed by coming to terms with Tyson Chandler. His presence alone helps better the team's interior defense and rebounding, which was the top priority of the club heading into the season.
With that being said, let's take a look at how the Knicks could take the floor on Christmas Day against the Boston Celtics.
Center—Chandler
If he's healthy and if he brings to the Knicks what he did for the Mavericks last season, then Chandler will have a big impact on how this Knicks team competes at both ends of the floor for a change instead of just the offensive end.
Power Forward—Amare Stoudemire
Chandler's presence has the biggest impact on Stoudemire, who can return to the four, where he is much more effective at both ends of the floor
Small Forward—Carmelo Anthony
It should be exciting to see what Anthony and Stoudemire can do together for a full season. I look for 'Melo to have a big 2011-12 campaign.
Shooting Guard—Landry Fields
Fields got off to a great start to his rookie season, but faded down the stretch and was very ineffective as the postseason rolled around. The second time around could be much better for Fields.
Point Guard—Toney Douglas
This spot could be reserved for Baron Davis, who the Knicks think they can get if the Cavs amnesty him, or they could target another amnestied point guard. But, for now, Douglas looks to be the man. With Fields and Douglas, they have a decent defensive back court. Douglas is a scorer as well, but can he become the floor general that the Knicks need him to be?
